Lol thanks, but I’ve finally got it. God, this thing is going to be a bitch. I’ve gutted my case, and desoldered the PCB. If I charred the PCB a little bit, it’s fine, right? lol :nono:
It looks like I’m going to have to dremel stuff out before I can go any further. Sucks, because I brought it to work to mess around with, and I can’t do anything atm.
Ok guys, I think I’ve messed up. I soldered (no quick disconnects :p) all the buttons and joystick correctly. Each button works fine. When I plug it in, It registers correctly with the buttons but when I try to use the joystick, it will only work for a few turns and then my controller doesn’t respond unless I replug it.
I’m using a Sanwa JLF joystick with 6 Sanwa Obsn-30’s. I don’t understand if it’s because I made a little melted dent in one of the micro switches or bad wiring. This is my first mod and my first time SOLDERING. Thanks.
Hi guys! Im new here, and this is the first time im modding a arcadestick
I need your help.
The buttons on my stick works fine, but when I tried to use the stick my ps3 said
"The maximum amount of power that can be supplied to usbdevices has bean reach"
at first ihad all the black wires from the pcb to the black wire on my stick, but then nothing on my stick worked, and now i changed to the reds. What have i done wrong ?
Your pcb is probably 2009 (like mine) Therefore, it is a non-common ground pcb for joysticks. Just take off the microswitches on your pcb. Hope it helps
i just bought a mayflash stick & the joystick crapped out on me after only a week & a half. are there any 28mm buttons i could buy for the piece of shit so i dont have to sand the holes open? dont have a dremmeler.
yeah i seriously hate this stick. i bought the piece of shit because it was cheap but im going to end up paying the difference in buttons & the stick. unless u have the money to mod it, i seriously suggest just buying a different stick all together. if it wasnt for the fact that i have friends who are gonna help me with this i wouldve thrown the damn thing in the trash.
There’s still some sanding/cutting required because of the tabs in the button holes. IMO it’s not that hard to sand the holes to 30mm without a dremel since you’re dealing with plastic. I did it by hand using very fine sandpaper wrapped around the handle of a wooden spoon. It took me about half an hour.
It took me longer than 15 minutes to use a metal file to widen the holes. I was, however, being very cautious and not filing very hard. But I got a dremmel now so it’s all good for the next two mayflashes I plan to mod. I’ll find a way to get pictures of my stick up. I don’t want to use my cell phone camera unless it’s a last resort.
