Thanks, but I did check Amazon about a week ago and found a seller selling it for $37 including shipping, but by the time I had the funds to actually buy the stick the seller was no longer selling them and the next best price was $45.
I found it on handhelditems.com yesterday and I went ahead and ordered it for $35 plus $9 shipping, $3 tax, and a $5 coupon for a total of 42 dollars. Now I’m just waiting for it to arrive and hoping that it has the common ground pcb just to make modding it a little easier.
Another way you can wire the 5v is by splitting the red wire itself. It’s just easier to use the underside of the PCB because it already has solder on it. Makes tinning a lot easier.
Thanks for the help Freezer, I’ve gotten everything set up. But for some reason I’m an idiot and don’t know what 4 + 4 + 4 is and ran out of room on the terminal strip for the ground. So other than that I’m almost done, the next thing is figuring out how to wire the joystick up, and I think I have that down packed pretty nicely.
I’ll post pictures when I’m done, which should be tomorrow or the day afterward depending on my schedule.
I’m pretty sure the buttons are all effed up for PS2/PS3, but I don’t really play on those much so it doesn’t really make a difference to me, I could have gone with just a 360 set up, but I wanted to try a dual mod and see if I was up to the task.
Been search for this for the past while but haven’t turned up much useful…
Does anyone have the PROPERLY SIZED photoshop template for the top of this stick? The only one I’ve found is like 43x37 inches or something purely retarded.
I seem to have damaged the solder points for the buttons on my PCB, Is there anyway around this or have i completely ruined it? I have searched the thread but have not found a definitive answer to my question. any help is greatly appreciated.
While I’m not necessarily an Akuma player (I play him in 3, a little bit in 4) I think he’s an awesome character and it fits the red on black colour scheme I already have going with my stick.
What’s up with the different layouts? PlayStation face buttons buttons being on the bottom and then the 360 buttons buttons over in a cluster? Just personal preference?
So I guess my big question to those of you who have modded the Mayflash… What was your end cost? I’m trying to figure out if I should get one and mod it or just pay a little extra and get the HRAP 3… My math might be a little off, but I thought the end cost of modding it would be close to $80. So I’m curious and would appreciate feedback.
I haven’t modded mine yet as I am still waiting for my order from Lizard Lick, but the end cost for me will be a little over $100. I was determined to get the total price to be under $100, and I thought I could do it since I already have most of the tools and wires I would need to mod it. Here’s the breakdown of my purchase:
This doesn’t include the cost of spray paint and printing artwork, which I might choose to buy and use if I have the time, but as it stands now the difference in price with the modded Mayflash and a preorder of the HRAP3 SA would be 20-$30.
