For me, I watch their body flying in the air after it bounces off the wall. After they’re about an inch from the highest point (lol…as if every tv is the same size), I activate U2.

Bottomline…it’s all about timing/height.

There’s already a thread about how to land ultra 2 from ex dive kick. The general idea is pretty much when your opponent’s body is right beneath the health bar. Its very characters specific in terms of how fast your opponent will fall.

As far as dive kick (one hit) into ultra, its character specific as well. You’ll just have to test and memorize. I know it doens’t work on guile or hakan.

It’s not just about combos, people.

There are two factors:

First, if you use anything but LK instant dive kick, it makes a difference how shallow the hit is. LK dive kicks recovers fast enough that it’s not a big problem, but for either of the others, you need to hit the tip of the foot or shin so that Juri will recover fast enough to do the Ultra. Any deeper and she recovers too slowly. That being saidhowever . . .

Second, how close Juri is after the hit. She seems to actually hit the opponent’s back with the Ultra, so you need to be close enough for her leg to reach it. Furthermore, larger characters fall faster, so their backs hit the ground sooner than lighter characters. This makes Ibuki, Cammy and Viper exceptionally easy to Ultra, but Hakan, Zangief and Thawk exceptionally difficult.

Damn dude, I was wrong and you corrected me. No need for the CAPS and the rage. This thread is to share info. I only tried it on Hakan a few times and failed, so sorry for making the wrong assumption and thank you for the correction.

How can I consistently land U2 after her EX air kicks? Sometimes it just whiffs for no reason. I use similar timing each time I attempt (wait till they falling vertically) but then I miss anyways and it costs me the match (and I’ve lost too many matches this way)

hit that thread up and keep on practicing. there are suggestions as to how to gauge it in both this thread and that other thread devoted to just this. it’s possible, the timing is just really, really tight.

I probably shouldn’t rely on this Ultra setup anymore. It’s so risky (in both landing the EX kicks from anything other than an FA and connecting the Ultra) and now people are wising up to it already. On the 2nd day I got the game it seemed like a reliable combo, most people fell for it and I connected it a decent amount, nowadays, once I’m low on life with a few EX meters and Ultra ready it’s like people already know what’s coming. I guess it would be wise to start practicing some Feng Shui setups

You can also try instant dive kick > ultra 2 or j.HK > Ultra 2 setups if you like low-execution Ultras.

FSE, though, is excellent if you like pressure and you want to guarantee your Ultra sees some use.

Surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned yet since it was like a minute 1 discovery, but Juri’s s.forward (both of them) are considered airborne. Random applications like doing s.forward as you’re getting crossed up to get flipped into the air rather than take the mixup/combo and such.

Can’t make her divekick from it in FSE tho :V

can anyone with better execution than me (can do unblockables consistently) confirm if juri has unblockable fireball setups that let her activate U1 and then recover in time or be out of range of reversals to block in time?
any fadcless ones that allow being combo’d off of in FSE? (doubt this one but worth seeing)

Eh? If you can do the FSE unblockable then you can just combo from it normally, you don’t have to block or worry about reversals, you just continue the combo.

some characters can ex shoryu through the fireball if they buffer it before they get up, yes?
