My spirit was crushed today, someone used the Feng Shun Engine and defeated me, I think my will of the Warrior is gone now.
I should get a stick or something, blocking doesn’t work good on this pad…
You must block properly to stand a chance.
By the way, does anybody know about to beat crouch tech if you bait it out properly?
For example,
Let’s say I caught Honda in a blockstring. Crossup J.MK, C.LKx2. I have a good feeling he’s gonna crouch tech (not 100% guaranteed, but let’s say I hear the buttons being pressed). What can I do? Instant dive kick? Delayed EX Pinwheel? Should I end with a standing LK first?
Normally if I try C.LKx2 - Karathrow it loses to his crouching jab.
Guys how do you deal with turtlers? I know it’s probably because I’m being an idiot but I can’t close the gap safely :(…
It doesn’t make too much sense to go for the kara throw when you know they are crouch teching because that’s the purpose of the crouch tech.
There’s a few things you can do.
- instant dive kick
- overhead
- close s.Fierce
- s.shortx2/c.short, s.short/c.shortx2 walk back watch for the whiff c.short then punish with c.forwardxxRH Pinwheel
- pressure with walk up close/far s.short then delay one of the short kicks and instead do EX Pinwheel
Anything that normally breaks armor will break Juri’s counter. If you managed to do it against a Sagat player, the Sagat didn’t reversal the Tiger Uppercut.
I guarantee you that on reversal, uppercuts break armor. I have had it happen to me all to often.
Reversal SRK is the reason why you cant charge a focus against a shoto on knockdown, you’re more than welcome to try it and see what happens.
Reversals are moves done at the very first frame possible be it on wake up or after a throw tech or whatever, all specials break armor when theyre reversal’d.
Final im done Hi Guys Im new to SRK.i wanted to read every thing before i said any thing.I want to become one top juri players.so im trying to figurie every thing i can about juri.I read every thing in this fourm and there a few things i want to talk about. First the U1 and U2 on which one better.Well a course U2 is better.Hahahahahahaha jp.It honestly depends on your style of play.If you want to instead fear in foe then use the first Utrla turn it into a game out cat and mouse. Also the best i seen it caught somebody is after sweep to stop them then cross up or after blocked a Dragon punch. Now for the U2.is better for punishment its a great way two come back. Now there Three thing people are forgetting.First you have to you have master both Ulrta.both are juri tools.you can be great in one but don’t know jack about the other one.Learning both teaches you more set up for both. Also it help in mirrior matches.alot people paly to there ulrta stregth.example people who use ulrta 2 seem to dive kick more then people who use ulrta 1 vis via ultra 1 people seem to just try jump and cross up whatever it means to stay close to their foe.this a problems juri players.everyone does the same thing.like wake up on ex pinwheel or ex dive which is very bad.out of all the the other juri in including me that i have played. everyone try to do the same set up.lets switch it up people.ex: Her U2.the only set up i see with it is ex dive kick. which is a 50/50 chance if use.because if its blocked you just handed them the match.juri has a few diffent ways to get into her ulrta.
Last thing about the ulrta.you should not be useing you ultra to get a ace in a hole move.your Foe know this a is going to be looking for it.all ultra are punshinment.even the ones that combo don not use until you c a window 2.trying to force you foe into your ultra does not work i have have come back alot of matches without my ultra.your utlra is your secret wepon not your main weapon.
Juri is not just one playing style she a the melting pot which puts her in class of her own.I call it control.Juri has to control the match for her two win.think about im sure there been times you murder other player or just got piss on.she need to control the match.she has all the tools 3 diffent fire ball and teloport.great normals and i dive kick.and can’t for get pin wheel.
now if your looking for people two watch.
the best juri i have seen so far is Kuraudokin. He use every move she had.he might only won 1 out of the 4 matches but they were going back to back. now can you go back to back with beast better yet beat him.if so i would pay to see this. also i saw floe juri. is great but i feel could be alot better.Floe had two use her U1 almost every time but kura only use it once out of 4 matches.
if there any top juri players you can think of let me know. Also im looking for some OS and safe jump ins if anyone can help.i think jump HP is.
If they have the life lead your going to have store fireballs and slowly make your approach then use the fireball release as cover. You want to get within a range where it’s safe for you to get in and take the occasional calculated risk. Throws are meant to break turtlers but if they are teching everything your going to have to continue to apply fireball pressure and try to force a punishable mistake from them.
If you have the life lead just site back and zone them as much as possible. Just continue throwing fireballs at different intervals and when they get within jumping distance just hold your fireballs and bait the jump out then AA them back off and continue the zoning game.
I’m sure specific strats are covered in other areas (like the strat thread), but I’m curious how you handle a turtling Guile? He’s the worst turtle for me to break with Juri. Fireball zoning doesn’t help when you’ve got sonic booms coming at you at every opportunity, and moving in gets punished by flash kicks or jump throws. He’s really infuriating for me. Most Guiles I’ve played against won’t jump in and risk AA, they’ll just chase a sonic and come in with sweeps. Counters work pretty well in stopping that particular advance, but once they catch on to that it gets too risky.
In a case like that, is it better to try remaining back and trying to out-zone the zoner, or what?
Not to sound like an old crony but that would be true except in SF4 you have a reversal window that’s large enough to drive a bus through. In SF2 for a move to truly be a reveral it would have to be done in a one frame window, in SF4 the reversal window is much higher, I know that’s sort of nit picky and if it comes across wrong I apologize.
But reversal moves do break armor which is why they made the reversal windows so large. That way you can’t walk up and lvl 3 focus someone if they miss the reversal because if you really try, its almost impossible to miss a reversal on wakeup.
Just don’t get too eager.
Thanks for that. I still get flashed out of dives and any other jump-in. My timing must suck. I’ll take further questions to the proper thread.
Oh, sorry, I guess I should have added this:
Check the first page of the Matchup Thread.
I don’t think Eternal Blaze meant his post to sound like Reversals were hard to do. As far as I can tell he was just being informative regarding Reversal properties.
I’m pretty sure that the move still comes out on the first frame possible, but the timing doesn’t have to be on the first frame possible… you can buffer it.
edit: changed my mind
Why am I losing interest with Juri???
She’s fun to play as and all but Sakura never gets old for me. Also, I’m vastly improving with Rose.
hey, it happens. i lost interest in ken and went gouki at 1 point.
Yeah it happens. Juri’s my best but I play a wide variety of characters just to keep her fresh and fun.
