If they block your sweep at the end remember you can cancel sweep into fuhajin store to make your string safe. Actually even on hit I try to always store a fuhajin after sweep. This opens up the possibility of a meaty projectile to guard your next jump in.
Another simple thing I like doing is just stop in the middle of a blockstring and go for an overhead combo. This doesn’t work on noobs because they like to mash reversals or turbo crouch jabs when they’re blocking. But it seems the better the player is, the more effective Sekku resets become.
And if your opponent likes to mash during block or when he gets knocked down, it’s pretty easy to just bait the reversal and punish with a full fse combo. Of course you have to condition your opponent first and test his reactions. That’s what I do when the match starts: I just test my opponent and check how he responds to blockstrings and knockdowns. Does he reversal a lot? Does he jump or backdash? Does he try to counter poke or does he turtle? Then once you get ultra you’ll know what’s the best way to pressure the guy.
Sepnusha changes make sense if you’re gonna fadc into U2 from it, but right out of nowhere is cs.mp getting one hell of a buff. The possibilities in the corner. That means shit is gonna get really bad for opponents if we corner them.
Thanks Juri_kills_friend!. On the Cammy match you said. “Also anti air her dive kick, it’s hella easy, far standing mp will rape it.” Are you meaning far mp or close mp? Cause at first I thought you were meaning far, but now I’m not sure. Was playing a cammy today and tried to remember to use it, but far mp seemed really odd for an AA on her dive kicks, so I thought I might be thinking wrong.
>.> lol! The way the move is angled, in terms of hit boxes it arches upward. Far standing mp is an anti air that most juri players overlook. Cr. mp and far standing mk are so much better anti airs, but on the move far standing mp gives you oki after the hit, meaning if gives you spacing after the attack. That move moves her forward quite a bit and timing isn’t essential to get down, you can work on it if you like, but far standing mp will stop those dive kicks. I use that same move for yun when he goes from an obvious meaty dive kick. What you need to look out for is ex dive kick is what you should be looking out for. She can instant air it and really mess you up with that. Also another of nowhere anti air is jab. Yes standing jab will beat her dive kick. Try it out.
“[Senpusha]: Hit stun has been adjusted so [FADC] after light version gives +6F on the first hit, +3F on the second. Medium and heavy versions gives +6F for either hit, and EX gives +3F on first hit and +8F on second hit.”
can someone let me know how much advantage FADC after light senpusha has now? It looks like capcom’s main answer to making her more competitive is just make senpusha safer, but i need someone to dumb it down for me, along with the listed alpha changes regarding senpusha. this would be appreciated.
from the alpha changes regarding senpusha:
[]Senpusha (pinwheel): LK is has 5F extra advantage on first hit; MK, HK have 5F extra advantage on 1st, 2nd hit; EX has 5F extra advantage on 2nd hit.
[]Senpusha → FADC → Kaisen Dankairaku (UC2) now possible

EX Senpusha has an extra frame of invincibility during Feng Shui Engine for the first hit
thanks for the help guys.
You should follow this thread for discussions about patch notes.
To recap for you, the old changes gave her +5f extra advantage, making FADC overall have +8f advantage. The new beta notes say the advantage straight up, so when it says you are +6f after Senpusha FADC, it means you are have 6f advantage after it (that’s 2f less than the alpha notes, or +3f more than we have right now). This means with the new notes, Senpusha FADC Kaisen is no longer possible except from EX Senpusha FADC (2nd hit).
I was watching cross counter asia and they were discussing the ae beta updates for all characters. When they got to juri they began talking out of their ass. They said juri is getting better and scarier with each patch note and that she got her first 3 frame move…smh just hearing them talk about juri made me not want to watch cross counter asia anymore =\
You know i spent a good portion of Saturday playing my pal who mains a hakan, i know that match up pretty actually well, especially since we talk about our characters with each other. Gen on the other hand, i don’t know very much about his frama data, i just know how to fight the guy. I’ll be honest i don’t know most of the casts frama data, I’m trying to be a good player and study up as much as i can before SB and afterward.
But i could ask you the same question and the whole juri board for instance, do you know all 39 characters frame data by memory?
I hold those guys responsible for knowing their frama data if they’re gonna talk about it. They’re well known players who do have an audience who are looking to gain some new info. So if they’re giving wrong information they’re actually hurting people instead of helping. It’s like if i came to the juri board and said, “Juri’s just got her first 3 frame move as of ae 2012! I know it is because I heard it off of CC asia.” It’s bad for new juri players to hear that kinda info and go by word of mouth and try to come on the boards and tell us what’s what. I think in the future these guys need to spend some more time preparing before they get infront of the camera and talk. I mean honestly these guys get paid to do these shows and i think it’s wrong to give wrong information and make a profit by telling you the wrong thing. I dunno it might just be me, but i think that’s messed up and why I say again, i won’t watch CC asia ever again.
New question for the juris,
how often do you guys try to use mid kick ex fuhajin? While studying up on my data i learned that it’s +7 on block, crazy pressure. But i dunno how i else i would use it on normal height characters. Like to see your thoughts.
On knockdowns you can throw out a mid ex, then dash up throw. You can also time it meaty, so they have to block it. Other than that, I use them sometimes versus Honda, because he can headbutt under lows.
I try to time ex mid fuhajin as a fuzzy guard meaty. Tho if mistimed your pretty susceptible to any good low attack the opponent has. Like on blanka or bison the can slide thier way to hit you.
I’m actually learning Chun now lol. She’s just as fun juri only safer and I love it. Better spacing on normals and stuff like that. She might be second alt next to ibuki. I just love the ladies lol. I hope it helps with the matchup cuz I suck when facing chun.
Mid fireballs are great for meaty pressure. Most people can’t special through them. Viper for an example gets eaten by this. This is how I defeat viper. No juris are locking her down like this so vipers must learn quick to get around this
Let me guess, you use Ultra 2 vs her. tsk tsk tsk. One time I accidentally picked U2 vs Chun and it was hell. No comeback potential at all. Once she got life lead that was it. There’s just not enough opportunities to land U2 unless the Chun player doesn’t know how to play.
In some matchups, Juri NEEDS to use FSE to even stand a chance. Sorry to say this but it’s true. Chun gets raped so bad by FSE that she can have an 80% to 5% life lead and you can still come back with U1.
@ Vulcan That’s if you can get in on chun =\ she has an answer for everything juri can do. u2 has about 12 or so ways to combo into it, just depends on the situation =o
@Lion Jak the hitbox of ex mid kick fuhajin is pretty good. It has a high chance to fuzzy an opponent because of it’s speed.
@Kail I need to use this move more than just a anti air lol XD
btw ex mid kick fuhajin is a hella good anti air (would be one of her best if it didn’t require meter). Even if the opponent hits you the active frames of ex mid will still hit them (a fuzzy) and force a juggle and they will get hit by both hits!
You activate FSE when Chun is down not when she is far away. Every time she falls on her ass that’s an opportunity to activate FSE.
What is she going to do without meter? Even with meter all she has is EX Bird Kick and EX Lightning Legs. Both of which are a joke reversals for Juri.
She can backdash but then again she kinda has a hard time anti-airing and dealing with cross-ups so she still struggles to defend against FSE pressure.
12 unreliable ways.
nj.hk whiffs on Chun’s crouching fierce and a lot of her crouching attacks. You’re certainly not outpoking Chun Li so you can forget about cr.mk xx fuhajin FADC. And good luck trying to land an ex dive kick on a turtling Chun. There’s only 2 real ways to land U2 on Chun: via a crumple and via a jump forward strong. Jump in strong might work on happy jumpers but a turtling/decent Chun Li ain’t gonna jump at Juri very often. So a lucky focus attack is all you have left to hope and land U2 on her.
Count the number of times you get a crumple on Chun vs the number of times you get any type of knockdown. It would be foolish not to use FSE.
I know there’s a lot of ways to combo into U2. But just not in this matchup imo. Vs Bison, Blanka, Yang, Zangief, T.Hawk, Adon and Fei Long, that’s another story. There’s like 20 opportunities per round to land Ultra 2 in those matchups.
Nah i’m just talkin in general. Getting in on a lame chun isn’t as easy as it sounds. All she needs is one hit confirm to begin laming you out. I know fse would rape her shit, but again that’s if she lets you in. The bitch has great pokes and anti airs and she’ll probably have U1 to catch you if you try to stock fire ball. I don’t disagree with you, i just think the likelihood of getting in on her is the only thing keeping you from taking him from 80-5%.
You can focus Hazanshu and cause a crumple. Focusing in general against chun isn’t usually a good idea.
IA dive kick> U2
Ex dive kick> u2 if she whiffs ex bird or is throwing out too many meaty pokes.
Raw U2 to punish ex bird.
cr.mk/cr.mp>fa lvl 2> u2 (you dun even gotta dash after that crumple, and if you wanna be fancy and go for a little bit more damage you can ex dive kick for 40 more damage, 460 something in total)
any special cancelable meaty poke>lk fuhajin>fadc>u2
I just gave you five ways to hit u2 in that match up. I feel IA dive kick u2 is the most useful in that match because you’ll use that move to punish any whiffs chunny throws out and it can punish backdash (hk dive kick). All work and all do pretty good damage to her. The only thing that keeps u2 from being reliable is you, not the move and definitely not Juri. But to each their own, for me i choose u2 =)
U2 also requires you to make a good read, good hit confirm, and to get in on chun. Chun just doesn’t let you do that because a good chun will keep you out, manage her meter and lame you out.
