Having trouble with Trial 22 with Juri it so annoying. Sometimes I get all the hits and last hit won’t hit also, Sometimes I’m not getting the Stand HK. Any help?
Something I don’t know about Juri. How do you keep storing fireballs without having to let one go? (in otherwords, storing 4 or 5 fireballs without releasing one)? I, for some reason, never bothered to ask.
Here’s a nice little Yang tidbit. Cr. MK will make Ultra 1 whiff on if timed right. j. LK will beat Ultra 2 on the way down. In other words, if you find yourself in a situation where Ultra 1 Yang is knocked down or you’re jumping in on Ultra 2 Yang (which you shouldn’t, but we all do), those aren’t bad options.
Do the trial in parts. Once all the parts are very clean. Start trying to do the whole trial. Unfortunately, you kind of just need to grind them out until you get them right. As it is, I’m stuck on one of Gouki’s trials. Just gotta keep cracking at it.
You release the button for the one charged when the animation for the second charge is happening.
Yeah I wasn’t really playing serious  But that Vega player is pretty good. I usually have to go 100% to go 50/50 with that guy >.>
With a vega player?! Whats he doing thats really good vs juri?
Think of it in parts, do the Sekku, then cr.LK,cr.MP,cr.MK as one part, then s.HK xx EX Pinwheel (its better to cancel the first hit of cl.HK, second may whiff). Then finally hit the close.HP if you got everything right (I usually Plink this with HP~MP to be sure).
And don’t worry if it doesn’t come to you right away, eventually you’ll be running through the trials with ease, I go through them as warm up practice, getting most of them on first try.
He walked forward on eish.
@Eish, you shoulda bodied him maaan! He went on to rape most of your team afterward. All in all, it was finally cool to see you play. keep it up man.
I’ve been training in lab trying to get Juri’s BnB’s down and I’m having a huge amount of trouble linking moves together. Simple things like st.lp > cr.mp I can only link maybe 20% of the time. Is there some trick behind it or should I just keep practicing it?
Practice. People always say learn plinking but you can’t really plink till you at least learn how to link normally.
It’s going to take me a bit before I get motivated to level up or even play my Juri (though there’s some motivation to getting #1 spot on PC AE since I can play at work =) But for now, I’m in Ibuki/Sagat mode -_-; Once I get frustrated enough to put in a little more time with Juri, I’ll have some new stuff to show off.
If anyone else decides to watch the stream, please know that I was just fooling around =\ I intentionally didn’t hit combos and won most of the gauntlet with basic stuff with a few sparkles here and there, nothing worth dissecting or even uploading to my Youtube about =\
Yea. Inwant a laptop bad because I can play at work!!! That gets me so hype…
so what move is “j.faps” exactly. i havent found an explanation for this yet…
J.hp i think…dunno the origins of how it got this name though.
Yup, that’s the origin
thanks:)
Ok, I’m in everything but good shape :/.
Have some queststions (again and more will come):
How the hell do I block Bison’s U2? I seriously have no clue here. Bison is my worst matchup, its like 1-12 in his favor… Have to work on that.
How to deal with opponents who just spam fireballs and run away (eg. Akuma)? I try to dash/Shikusen, but its still too slow…
How to deal with jab spammers? Lost good ammount of matches Using my own jab didnt help…
What do you do when you are under pressure? Im not able to get out of corner… I miss Cannon Spike sooo much…
Any hints of basic offense? Im not able to rush that s***t down as i would like to. Didnt have that problem with Cammy (though my play was far from average).
Wow you’re asking a lot huh? I may need a little help from the other juris.
You crouch and blk his U2. It’s like c.viper’s u1.
It’s called laming it out, and juri has a more difficult time closing gaps on players who lame her out, ex guile. You just gotta fireball war and get in on them slowly. Once you have a life lead you should lame it out too and zone them out.
Fuhajin at least one stock. It depends what your opponent is doing. If they’re laming it out zone them or build meter. If they’re jumping in a lot, cr.mp will solve that problem pretty fast. Juri excels the most in the corner, as most of her damaging combos come from there. I say hit the lab and practice zoning (doing your fireballs), anti airing, and pushing your opponent into the corner. I think your offense should develop from there.
What do you do while you’re under pressure? Just block. You can also use her counter to get out of a tight spot. Uh, you could also try to grab them and escape from there. Juri’s options are limited once she’s corner, it does help her wake up is ass.
For mash jab, Ia dive kick will beat it out. Don’t ever try to out mash a ryu and his 3 frame jab. Your jab comes out at 4 frames, which means don’t try to mash anything out, you will get countered hit and eat a combo/punish. Again, the best you should do is block or ex counter.
i think that covers it. hope that helps.
I’ll try to give quick tips.
And I have serious problems with good Bisons as well, his pressure is so ridiculously safe
Practice moving around so you don’t take too much damage from fireballs first. You have block, counter, focus absorb, fuhajin store and neutral jumps to avoid the fireballs, use those while pushing the opponent to the corner with your own fuhajins. If they’re using the common beginner strategy of just running away like crazy, just stand half a screen away from the corner and keep them there, punishing any attempt to get out. And if you really want to catch them, rapid forward dashing will get you to them no matter how fast they back off (but of course its risky, might dash facefirst into a fireball / fist). LP countering fireballs works well for approaching beginners as well.
Just block it. Know your frame advantages on moves, so you know after which moves it is safe to follow up, and which it is not. Use stored fuhajins for easy frametraps that beats jab mashing. Practice frame trapping to punish them for mashing on jab.
Blocking is a good option that takes quite a bit of practice. EX Counter too. Once you get a hang for when the proper time is, EX Pinwheel can be a good option as well (mostly when the opponents is overly reckless).
Use plenty of fuhajins, it gives good advantage on block to keep your offense going. Juri is somewhat different than Cammy, so you will not be able to keep as consistent a pressure in the same way as Cammy can. Your objective should be to push the opponent to the corner with footsies, then destroy them there with pressure and frame traps.
