I think the closest they have come to presenting a real-life situation is in "Hurricane Fluttershy."
Fluttershy does a work-out montage, only to find out the next day that she still can’t flap her wings fast enough to help the Pegasi lift the water to Cloudsdale.
They promptly shit all over this by having Fluttershy go Kaio-Ken and gather enough speed while Spitfire sits on her ass watching.
Whaaaaaat?! I thought this was all rumor until now, this looks like it should be interesting. Definitely gonna be anticipating this one.
I think the pilot was good as an episode despite the not having much of a villain. Too Many Pinkies was great, it’s not often that I like an episode that centers on Pinkie Pie, but the antics were great and it showed Pinkie as more than just a party machine. I just got time to watch the fourth episode. I agree that the CMC shouldn’t have felt guilty over pranking Bad (Babs) Seed for being a jerk. Also, I kept thinking of Bad Seed as a guy in this episode, probably the voice or something. The song was pretty good this time though, in my opinion.
Did anyone else notice how the thing around her neck looks like one of the elements of harmony necklaces?
This could be a possible tie in to Sombra creating the elements of Disharmony, which could be a potential plot for the season finale. =D

Dang, about time there was some new activity in this thread! Just like the rest of you, I’m waiting very impatiently for Fighting is Magic. However, I never bothered to hunt down the leaked alpha, I’ll wait for an official release before I touch this game.
As for season 3, so far, it’s pretty good. The bullying episode turned out much better than I thought. Some people worried that they would recycle the same plot from ‘Griffon the Brush-Off’ but that wasn’t the case. Hell, halfway through, I thought Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon would turn on Babs and start bullying HER, thus causing the CMCs to come to her defense. The actual outcome of the episode was still satisfying. Another thing I’ve noticed, is this season is going to focus more on continuity. This is especially evident with the return of a certain arrogant unicorn, who fancies herself “great and powerful.” Except, this time, she looks like she’ll be able to back up her words. I can already picture it, she blames Twilight for humiliating her in season one (even though she brought it on herself) so she searched high and low for a way to increase her magical powers and get the payback she (doesn’t) deserve.
I’ve also noticed people complaining about the lack of Derpy cameos in this season. I’ve been missing her myself, but it’s not hurting my enjoyment of the show. In ‘Too Many Pinkie Pies,’ I did spot the back of her head in the angry pony crowd. It would suck if Derpy got phased out of the show entirely. It wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it definitely would suck.
So Trixie gains some “evil” artifact that amplifies her powers?

Anyway, if you haven’t checked it out, My Little Pony issue 1 came out this week, its pretty damn good. Looks like IDW’s going to be packing in the adventurey stories they really can’t do on the Hub.
Better tell them about that pony toy you’re buying. That’d clear your name!
I ordered a copy from Midtown Comics, no tracking info or eta, but hopefully it’ll arrive soon. It sounds like it’s pretty good so I’m really looking forward to giving it a read myself! I wonder if they’ll continue to make small comic story-arcs in the future if it sells well.
I figured that was the reason for the change. 
So I was driving around, trying to find a place where my local scene could have weekly meetups. Today I was checking the comic stores off my list. The last place I checked before heading home had a decent-sized room we could use, and right when I was ready to leave, I just happened to see a comic with a disproportionate amount of pink and yellow on the cover… which was basically the Fluttershy cover for the new MLP:FiM comic by IDW.
First comic I’ve bought in at least eight years. Fluttershy cover is best cover.
So, Magic Duel happened and it was pretty neat!

It would be nice if she stayed on as a mentor for Twilight, but they kind of implied she exhausted all of the training she could’ve given her.
Trixie, I wasn’t terribly upset at her portrayal. I didn’t really go in with any expectation one way or another, but I did get a laugh at the best humble unicorn bit. Also, wheels.
Fluttershy was great this episode. Since season 2 she gets to show a lot more emotion, and all of that was on full display. Plus, she was especially adorable this week, and when Fluttershy is concerned, that’s saying something.[/details]
Also, hearing Trixie called a fraud, in a room full of FGCers. Was great. “The free and fraudulent” is now a not especially sought after title in my local scene.

The ending to Magic Duel kind of sucked, for some reason they write the show like it’s for little girls.
Trixie needs to stay villain/heel, now she kind of lost her unique personality that appealed to people in my opinion.
