hey if you guys don’t want pavano ship him back to the florida marlins imo.
on that note: oil can boyd. if you know what the florida marlins need now, and if you remember him, what’s your opinion… match made in heaven? disaster?
and why hasn’t the front office peeked in there? he’s a free agent for crying out loud.
He had a good season and then unfortunately he got hurt as pitchers are want to do. I can’t fault Carl Pavano for that. Some guys come back better from Tommy John surgery and some guys don’t. Carl Pavano is in the latter category.
Most teams were looking for a #1 or #2 starter really. I am shocked he didn’t get a look at by the Brewers or the Dodgers really. Dodgers could use a 5th starter pretty badly before Jason Schmidt implodes.
White Sox going for the sweep tomorrow after winning a very tough game vs Lackey and overcoming some bad defense to win last night. I like our chances with Danks facing Santana. The Sox are clicking right now but for some reason have a very hard time finishing off sweeps, Danks has been struggling a bit lately too.
Well, i thought there was another O’s fan on here but I guess I was mistaken. Either that or they all are in hiding. Anyway, I thought Matusz looked damn good the other night. He had some issues but overall a great debut. Looking forward to Sunday when he faces Halladay
Carl Pavano’s a Minnesota Twin. Hey. He can’t be worse than Liriano.
At least he plays well against the AL Central rivals.Against the Detroit Tigers this season, he has gone 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA. In 23.1 innings, he has given up just 18hits and one walk. Against the White Sox, he has gone 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA. In 22.1 innings, he allowed 18 hits and walked two.
If you take away Pavano’s April, in which he went 0-4 with a 9.50 ERA, he has been solid. He has been 9-4 with a 4.68 ERA since the calendar turned to May.
Alex Rios claimed on waivers! Very interesting - who is the mystery team!?!
I’m really torn now on thinking whether or not the Jays should just let him go if they can’t work out a trade. Payroll’s such a big issue around here…dammit, I guess hoping Vernon gets claimed on waivers is too much…?
If a team’s willing to make a claim for Alex Rios they should be willing to give something of value for him. He’s not what people thought he’d be but he’s a useful player and his contract is manageable. Letting him go for nothing sends the wrong message to the players and the fans.
Vernon Wells might have the worst baseball contract ever. He’s untradeable right now.
This press conference not helping David Ortiz at all and this guy talking now is a fucking idiot. Baseball is so stupid about this and has handled it the wrong way the whole time.
wow what a douche. haha “i never bought steroids” rofl. this dude was a fucking nobody till he started juicing when he came to the redsox and is a nobody again now that hes off.
