Buster Olney: MLB sources indicate the White Sox are most likely the team awarded the claim on Rios, but the Blue Jays have not confirmed it.
Sigh… Dan Haren’s having his usual 2nd-half swoon. Such a disappointment.
Kinda expected that from him. Hmmm look like AL west is on lock, M’s gonna need to get lucky to get that wildcard spot.
The Rays and Red Sox would have to fall off the face of the earth for that to happen. Or die in a plane crash. Even then the Texas Rangers would still win the Wild Card over the Mariners so even that wouldn’t work.
Well the Red Sox have been slumping, and the Rays are currently playing the M’s and the Rangers are currently playing the Angels. Maybe the Angels and M’s can put the Rays and Ranger into a slump, and the Yankees can stomp on the Red Sox some more. =0
Mariners are 5 GB in the wild card. They could sweep this series, then enjoy the next 10 games against Chicago, New York, and Detroit, and probably end up 8 games back.
is this the american leauge thread or mlb?
ps- carp and pujols need another repeat year of cy and mvp
oh and albert is now hitting .800 with 27 rbis in 10 at bats with the bases loaded this year…even as someone whos watched him his hole career is impressed with that shit.
I think its gonna be over for the cubs in a week or so now that there not feeding on the teams at the bottom.
Not many compelling storylines in the National League. Albert Pujols is the MVP. Tim Lincecum is the Cy Young winner. The Phillies and Dodgers are all but certain to reach postseason. Once the Cardinals reach their stride they’ll have control of their division also. The only looming question is who wins the NL Wildcard between the Cubs, Giants, Rockies, and Marlins.
Nationals won 7 straight. Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were in attendance. That’s gotta be just a little compelling, right?
New rule we talk about the league that win the all-star game so hush!
Nationals having a little mini run that meaningless.
Manny being Manny again. His slow ass tried to tag from 3rd on a ball caught in ** by the shortstop in shallow left field**. Got beat to the plate by a mile. Hilarious.
pavano is better than 3/5th of red sox staff.
him and gaudin are both better and available, and they end up signing paul byrd who hasn’t pitched since october?
i thought the red sox had the smartest front office ever
I didn’t even know Pavano still played baseball. I think his arm exploded and the Yankees locked him in a basement with tons of money.
damn a rod with all these unclutch stat padding meaningless homeruns
Not only was it a sweet of Boston, but a highly embarrassing one. Couldn’t be happier. Sox now 6 1/2 games back, gonna be AL East Division winner easily.
I don’t care for the yankees or the red sox, but fuck yankee fans. I swear to god it’s a disgrace. They have made it acceptable to give curtain calls for everything and anything these days. I remember when Cal Ripkens amazing streak ended and he got a curtain call and it meant something. Nowadays Milkey Cabrerra can hit a grand slam in a 8-1 route of the royals and not only will the dumb ass fans give it a curtain call but the YES network will make it a yankee classic. Bear in mind these are the same moron fans who have boo’d both Derek Jeter AND Mariano Rivera when they’ve had rough patches.
/rant
cards two games up on the cubs lol

rob, arod would pad his crotch if it would make his case for the hall of fame better.
