We’re probably gonna have to wait for Cliff Lee to get traded first to set the bar for what the Blue Jays can expect for Halladay. Basically whatever it takes to get Cliff Lee if a team gives more than that they get Roy Halladay.

They’ve been talking about it on MLB network and Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus said he had a source tell him. It’s not so done though considering that Halladay is pitching right now.

It’s JA Happ, Kyle Drabek, and Dominic Brown for Halladay. If I’m the Phillies I take this deal and run. JA Happ has an inflated value right now. It’s the perfect time to capitalize on it.
Hamels has been gassed since he owned hte playoffs. Just hasn’t been the same coletrain since he won that MVP. He just needs to take some time off.
I’m all for getting Halladay while our all star infield is in it’s prime.

That Phills deal isn’t too bad, however I’m not sold on Happ, he does seem like he’s overvalued.
However, this may be the best deal we get atm since JP keeps spouting off about how Halladay wants to leave which can’t be good for leverage.
As a Jays fan I don’t want him to leave, but after watching tonight’s game where we couldn’t get him a win again, I actually wouldn’t mind him going to another club where they can support him now (as long as it’s out of the AL -.-)
That’s as good of a reason as any. Especially if Holliday keeps up this hitting. Apparently this fool was taking hitting lessons from Mark McGwire in the offseason. Suffice to say the results were terrible. He threw all of that garbage out the window and now he’s playing much better. We’ll see if he keeps it up.

I like the deal, its wierd never seen dewitt go out and spend money like this before. everyone here was clamoring “fire mo” for his terrible off season(khalil greene, cmon) and now hes the toast of the town. Bringing in holliday and derosa(lugo for duncan was an amazing deal as well, addition by subtraction at the very least. then lugo has been hitting the cover off the ball). We have pretty much sold the farm this year, but they trust the scouts to find the next wallace. We also have mateo signed now, 16 yo from dominican who could be the next albert. i hope so, 3 million signing bonus for a 16yo is nuts.
Im realy excited for this year. If lohse gets straitened out, we have as good a shot as anyone in a playoff series. Carp, Wainwright, Pinerio(all in top 10 for era in NL) with a steady lohse is too sick. Add to that a lineup like Schumaker, Rasmus, Albert, Holliday, Ludwick, Derosa, Molina, Lugo and we might just grab world title number 11 :lovin:
And its a huge sign to pujols, the long term implications of this deal could be enourmous. We WILL sign at least one of derosa and holliday(who has a 16 mil option i believe) back for next year, probably both. We have ludwick and pujols threw 2011, i think we sign these guys too and go for broke. hope tony comes back next year, these moves will help that as well.
