** Jake Peavy is done for the next month and the Padres fear he could miss from eight to 12 weeks.** Peavy arrived at Angels Stadium in Anaheim Friday night with a cast on his right leg – specifically, the posterior tibialis tendon on the inside of the ankle. Peavy first injured the tendon while running the bases against the Cubs on May 22. He had made three starts since and was scheduled to start Saturday night in Anaheim. But when the ankle showed no progress toward healing, the decision was made to have an MRI exam Friday morning. The results were not good, showing longitudinal tearing in the tendon.Three Padres team physicians decided that Peavy risked the possibility of doing more damage to the injury if he continued to pitch before he healed. Padres trainer Todd Hutcheson said it could be eight to 12 weeks before Peavy is fit to pitch again. “It’s not a case where the injury is getting worse now,” said Hutcheson. “But it could get worse.”

Well they put Janssen on the DL and called up Mills for tomorrow, so we’ll see how that turns out.

Sadly they just won’t call up Castro, short guys get no love

…Fabio Castro? Organizational filler who posted an 8.10 ERA last year in AAA and has 25 walks to 28 K’s in 57 innings in this year, THAT Castro?

God, Scott Downs and Halladay on the DL…I don’t even know where the Janssen thing came from…God, that’s depressing.

At least we beat Old Man Moyer today. Hurray for us.

Wow basically our main rotation is out with injuries. The only guy left is Romero with a bunch of call ups or relief pitchers. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rotation in such bad condition.

Yeah THAT Castro, hes 5-2 with a 2.28 ERA with 52 Ks to 28 BB (which I admit is a bit high), I say he deserves a shot just as much as Mills atm, who I do like, however I don’t think will pitch well tomorrow.

Also, it seems like Cecil will be going on Saturday vs. Nats and finally they call up Accardo.

In other news, our head trainer George Poulis made the All-star team, must be from all the work he’d had to pile up.

Our interleague record now stands at an astounding 3-6, WOOOOOOOO!!!

Man, the Phillies bullpen is really, really bad.

But Jayson Werth, ANOTHER home run. One in each game against the Jays, and his 4th in 5 games…I remember last year he had an 8 RBI, 3 homer game against us too. Good Lord, that’s six home runs in six games against the Jays. What a bastard. It’s like everyone that ever leaves Toronto leaves with horrible plans of vengence. Why!?!
