Cant tell, dont have exp at all, because 90% of my Opponents are playing Scorpion.
i dont think they should remove the bomb trap completely i just think they should make the throw brake window larger nd unable to command grab after a net (that last one might be too big of a change but idk) these are just my opinions
reptiles getting buffed in the patch? Anyone know what he’s getting?
Not sure… I heard a lot of different things from different people.
Things I know for sure:
-Kano’s getting some incredible buffs and a few fixes (F3 will hit low, reduced recovery time on whiffed balls + heard from REO that his up ball will be like Johnny Cage’s flash kick, basically meaning unpunishable on block 90% of the time)
-Baraka is getting some love (whatever that means).
-Kung Lao and Ermac will receive damage nerfs.
-Smoke loses otg smoke bomb.
-Cyrax will lose reset glitch (not sure about bomb trap yet).
Other stuff I heard but aren’t really confirmed (so at this point it’s just rumors):
-Jax and Sheeva are getting some fixes and buffs.
-Reptile is getting some buffs.
-Raiden is getting nerfed.
-Quan Chi loses Rune Trap but will get buffed to make up for it.
I hope they make it so you cant do the popup tele slam wit ermac on wakeup he has like no holes in his defence and make the gravity squeeze have a smaller vertical hitbox
I dunno i dont agree with the smaller vertical hitbox. It doesnt seem to be a problem. People found ways around it
you can poke him out of wakeup teleslam for free. if youre getting hit by his wakeup moves it either means you arent timing it right or the knockdown you got on him doesnt allow you to get on his ass fast enough to put real wakeup pressure on him.
So I heard balance changes were on the way? People were talking in PJay’s stream last night that there are nerfs coming like Cages Shadow Flip Kick so is there truth to this? If true what other changes are coming?
Ed Boon said on stream that there will be patch notes for future upcoming patches on the MK9 website.
ahhhh… I assume Kung Lao will be hit pretty hard with the nerf super soaker so people will stop complaining.
From what I’ve heard he’s gonna get a damage nerf, and that would hurt him.
Bound to happen, his combo damage is ridiculous. Even if they nerf his damage a little, he will still be high tier char.
Yeah, Kung Lao will still be a pain to deal with. His damage nerf only means that players will have to work harder with him.
I just hope people drop him massively.
Sub Zero will still be the best character in the game after all the changes.
brady says Shang Tsung is in the Top Tier.
so blaow
I have yet to see how Shang would be top tier. I can see how in the right hands he may be very dangerous, but how I see it he gets blow up by heavy rush down. It doesn’t help that his wake up attack isn’t the best either.
On another note, even though he is my favorite character I must say Johnny Cage’s one glaring problem is that he gets hard countered by Sub-Zero. Johnny is great against most of the cast, meaning he probably would be pretty high in a standard “best of 10” tier list, but Sub-Zero is an abysmal fight. Against a good SZ you have to really work to get in on him, and if you are not in on him you can’t trade projectiles or you can eat a 25% damage combo even from full screen. Sub-Zero is quite an easy character to pick up as well, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility to think that most people at tournaments would have a decent Sub-Zero in their pocket for them to pull out against a Johnny Cage they run into. I feel like it is an 8-2 match up in Sub-Zero’s favor, maybe 7-3. Either way it is serious disadvantage for JC.
Well giving what Tom said and done, plus his background, I trust his words and I see no reason not to, you won’t be seeing High level Shang play for a while simply because he isn’t a pick up and play character. Dude has a huge learning curve. As for wake up options I have been using Ex Soul steal and it gets rush down characters off me with ease. Tom also stated Ground Skull on wake up is invincible, which I will be checking out later to night.
Shang only match up where rush down characters blow his shit up completely is against Cyber Subz and Raiden.
I believe Tom said that close ground skull was invincible, so i’d recommend checking them all out individually to see if it is just the one or all.
I would definitely say he’s top tier, but he also has the biggest learning curve in the game by far, and if you can’t use him well enough he’s completely useless for it.
Shang Tsung’s strength is that his combos are unbreakable because they use projectiles. In the right hands, this is absolutely devastating. He seems slow as dogshit to me, though… so the devastation potential is something that has to be worked at, unlike Kung Lao. I’m cool with that, but we’ll have to wait a few months for the real Shang Tsung players to show us his matchup potential.
