That’s true JennyCage, I haven’t thought about that. Shang’s combos are mostly projectiles and breakers only work on physical contact.
“fire forest all day.” That’s what Tom said basically. He’s a massive zone character and can’t really be played otherwise. You have to be super lame and patient with Shang. And in really bad matchups you need to soul steal and take advantage of the power boost.
He’s also one of the hardest characters to use at high levels.

Thing about this game is you can’t just Zone all day.
not to mention shang isn’t as useless up close as some may think.
I don’t see how Baraka is lowest tier. I just don’t think the technology has been found for him yet. Especially if he gets buffed after the patch, look out.
Reptile doesn’t need a buff as he has all the tools he needs IMO. An nerf to other players will indirectly buff Reptile.
Ermac is close to bullshit tier with NoobSaibot not too far behind.

He doesn’t know how to fight zoning/keep-out characters and probably hasn’t played a good Sub Zero either.
Has anyone played Kano recently? He feels better than before… I think he might go up in the tier list he has some very nice combos and I’ve been finding it easier to fight against good kung-lao’s and ermac’s online recently

But also : Kano is easy to play seriously. Same for Sub-Zero, Noob and Sektor. Pretty straight forward.
Yeah, Kano is really good, even without the buffs he’ll be getting from the patch. But he is also pretty simple to use. nothing wrong with that, but if you’re looking for someone like C. viper or other tricky character’s, look elsewhere.
I disagree. I’ve tried a lot of characters and Kano is one of the most complex ones to master next to Stryker and Baraka.
To me Kano is as simple and braindead as the player who uses him is. Sure, he’s easy to use if all you do is throw knives from far away and up ball to anti-air. But there’s so much more to the character than this lame playstyle. 90% of Kano players will never be able to use him properly. I’m sure 90% will only use Kano for zoning alone but won’t know how to counter, frame trap and mixup at all.
Looking for some advice: I cant, for the life of me, pull off the reptile elbow dash after 3,2 IOT set up JP for massive damage combos… I really want to start maining reptile but without this ace I feel limited… any reptile users here that can help me out? BTW:

Frankly, I don’t think counter, frame trap and mix-up as all that advance. I see that as things that all characters need to use to be effective. but some characters takes those base elements and add onto them with other things that Kano doesn’t have.
It’s like saying Ryu is simple and braindead because all he needs to do is zone with fireball and anti-air with dragon punch. He still needs to work on spacing, frame traps and mix-ups. but there is no way Ryu is as diverse and tricky as C. Viper.
kano is simple.
Frame trapping and all that other advance stuff is what you should be doing in general with any character you play. When it boils down to it, kano has a hadoken, blanka ball and shoryu.
He doesn’t have setups after Ice clone or Military Stance cancels or reptiles lil acid ball pressure. Nor advance zoing options like sindel or Shang.
Kano doesn’t have amazingly tricky tools. All his specials are straight-forward for whatever use. Air blanka ball is not a dive kick by any means by you can still use it to blow up predictable zoners. Played him a bit and haven’t ran into a match-up where I felt major disadvantage but he doesn’t feel like he has a major advantage against anyone either though. Solid mid tier imo.
