HD version of Kabal reveal
played the demo but couldn’t fully enjoy it because it had none of my prefer characters.
Did kind of wished some of the characters from MK4-MKD, were there. Yeah I know there were a ton of crappy characters (Kobra, Shujinko, Hsu Hao, Darrius, Bo Rai Cho, etc), but some of them had a lot of potential.
Kind of wished Havik, Kenshi, Mavado, Sareena, and Ashrah were there. Havik was a really unique character to mortal kombat. I thought Ashrah had a lot of potential, in terms of storyline, they should change her look (more demon like), as well as some of her move sets. Its also probably hard for Kenshi and Mavado to be in this game, with Kabal and Ermac, since they have similar moves/weapons.
Kenshi is in the running for the first DLC character. I’m voting for him.
I hear you on Ashrah, though, she was probably the best character in any 3-D Mortal Kombat game. That Nature’s Torpedo would make a fucking sweet combo ender with this game’s mechanics.

Meh. Ashrah doesn’t suck, but she’s still basically a female Raiden. Not in story (her story was actually good), but in moves and looks. You could transplant her story to a newer character.
Bo Rai Cho was great.
But there is only just a couple MK characters past MK4 that deserve to be ever used again: Bo Rai, Kenshi & Havik. Thats it.
Her moves were completely different from Raiden’s, though, and people only say she looks like Raiden because of her hat.
This just in: Kung Lao is a Raiden clone. He has a hat and a teleport, just like Raiden.

Havik and Hotaru were just “fun with Dungeons and Dragons alignments” brought to life and taken to an absurd extreme, and one doesn’t really work without the other. Glad to see we’re all in agreement about Kenshi, though. That motherfucker was raw as shit.
Just as a side note, I think I’m the only person who liked Dairou. Or Daegon.
Mavado was cool. I liked his appearance and style.
We need some of that Dairou Tombstone Drop and Bo Rai Cho bad hit detection w/ Bo staff. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a MK with them.

While I’m at it, this is a good opportunity to come up with legit movelists for Kia and Jataaka as well. NetherRealm, make it happen!
Honestly I don’t really miss anyone. Pretty much every character introduced post-MK3 was somewhere between irrelevant and absolutely terrible, so unless given something new to actually make them interesting, I don’t have a particular desire to see a lot of them come back. I did like Kobra, but I’d be shocked if they actually picked him. Kenshi could be OK, but I was never a big fan of his moveset. Wouldn’t mind Sareena either, I guess.
Ultimately though, it all depends on how the characters would be implemented. Given a visual overhaul, a nice moveset and fun combos I’m sure almost anyone COULD be a decent addition (especially as VS-only DLC/bonus characters, so they won’t bring the baggage of awful plot with them), but considering just about everyone looked and played like shit in MKDA onwards, it’s hard to get excited about a character if they’re anything like those previous incarnations. In any event, with the MK1-MK3 cast in the game, all of my favourites are already accounted for, so any additional characters would simply be a bonus.
I’d rather them come up with totally new characters than revisit any oldies from the MKDA trilogy. They came from a shit era of MK that was shifting and recycling so many moves by Armageddon the only real identity these characters had was their appearance, special moves, and fatalities. In most cases, those weren’t that good.
So, I don’t think they should even waste their time unless they’ve already got code in the works, anticipating who the fans might want back.

He shouldnt have been in the MK3’s lol. terrible sub boss, he is free, like coffee at the AAA meeting, and was just a awful idea in the first place.

only DLC should be MK4 packs, + Rain (hopefully not in his flaming MKA outfit lol)
So that’s Klassic Sub, Reptile, Scorp, Ermac, Kitana, Mileena(?), Jade and maybe one for Smoke.
If they charge for these after release, they’d rake in alot of cash. It’ll probably be a pack, but I doubt they will be a unfair price if they aren’t free since they are all just swaps.
Anyone notice that you can see Kabal’s face, about :40 in the reveal trailer, after he does the spin move. His mask kinda flips up for the following combo, which is fucking strange. I thought he was meant to be all ‘GAZE UPON HIS VISAGE AND KNOW TRUE FEAR’, like some Cthulhu shit.
I’m with you guys on the Kenshi thing, he was the only character in the 3d games I could stand.
Huh. I might have to pre-order from Toys ‘R’ Us then. Kitana’s old outfit is cute.

Yeah, I’m honestly kindof disappointed they’re just showing his face like it’s no big deal. His face aint even all that fucked up either, just some scars and shit. Plus, the mask is his fucking RESPIRATOR. He needs that shit to breathe, man!
It looks like it might just break off from taking damage, similar to Cage’s shades.
