In fact, you’re getting my hopes up too much. I have to keep in mind that there WILL be a block button, not every move will have an SF motion, (I forget if MK even has different strengths of specials depending on which type of P/K is pressed), and that the entire “feel” of the game will still be awkward and weird and keep me from enjoying playing it, no matter how much I would like to.
Well, I play Guilty Gear and everyone knows there is a button called ‘Dust’. So I guess we just take it out as we see it.
Anyway, if you go on most competitive Mortal Kombat site the buttons are listed as numbers.
The whole lead and read punch stuff is from Bloodstorm I think.
Because people love to think they know everything about fighting games and it will devolve into arguing about a block button and how so and so game was broken. I’m fine with the discussion here. We’ve either been posting or lurking since this section was made and we’ve been doing just fine. Fuck FGD.
Oh, and DC comic book characters hopefully won’t be in this Mortal Kombat game. I liked MK vs DC but it had it’s time.
Regarding button layout, the game also has the throw button returning. Looking at the movelist on some of the videos, the x-ray attack input seemed it was 2 of the top triggers. Also, the tag system could have added command inputs, such as tag in specials and tag button itself.
btw, i swear Bloodstorm’s layout was Front Punch, Back Punch, Front Kick & Back Kick. fucking retarded they cant just say HIGH PUNCH LOW PUNCH HIGH KICK LOW KICK!
You seem like a really nice guy and I know you love Mortal Kombat but you’re totally stuck in the past, Homie. You need to get over it and acknowledge that fact this isn’t going to a be remake of UMK3.
Also, Street Fighter has never 20+ characters in the same game with the same set of normals so that argument is pointless.
Anyway, back on topic. I wonder which characters are going to be announced next?
lol thanks but being a fan of 2d MK, yea, you have to be stuck in the past. Nothing they’ve done for about 15 years has been worth a shit. If they are gonna go back to their roots, then go back to the roots. Im tired of half assed bullshit from Ed Boon and the MK team. And i know its not a remake of UMk3, which is another reason this game will not be anywhere near as good in quality than it, but again, after 15 years, i am used to that.
If UMK3 was good enough for tournaments, I don’t think MK9 will reach that status. But at least they SEEM to be trying to. Only time will tell.
BTW, have you guys hit up Mortal Kombat Online? They list a bunch of vids from pax that one or two of you might have not seen yet. I think Mortal Kombat Empires might be doing the same thing though.
