I’m about to hit the training room with Quan Chi. What does everyone think about him?
Quan Chi is hard to get much damage with without his command buff, and his specials are pretty unsafe, especially his teleport stomp which is extremely punishable. Still, I think he is very fun to play and combo with, and he can pressure people decently enough into his B + FK, FP + BP combo starter. I think he is currently my most played character in MK atm, with Cyber SZ being a close #2.
I noticed that you changed ur avatar from reptile to noob, why did you decide to drop reptile?
Its kinda tough to explain but in short, besides the fact that mostly everyone in my offline area mains Reptile, Noob just fit my style a lot more, he’s like a MK styled Bison.
I use pad for MK just to keep my muscle memories seperated. The game is frying my brain right now (must mash chain combos as fast as possible and then special cancel with strict timing?), and when AE comes out I don’t want my sticks to feel strange.
Does anyone have the problem of playing a bit too defensively in this game? I try to play defense a lot sometimes, and I end up blocking offensive strings that I can’t seemingly punish. Is that the case for most strings in the game? Usually after blocking a string, I try to go for a standing 1, and it ends up getting stuffed.
Cool game. (Just got it). Is there a reason why Sindel has to work so hard. Even her levitate cancel doesn’t remove enough recovery frames for her to combo afterwards. SMH, developers always making interesting characters limited/weak.

Although it’s generally been a hit & miss of skill levels - very few players in-between; either they’re good or they went to enjoy pressing buttons.
How many entrants did they get? Didn’t seem like they filled up all 2048 and the hall seemed quite empty most of the time. MK Kommunity folks - were most of you there?
I think the last minute announcement combined with the skepticism of the game prelaunch kept many people from attending the tournament. Also doesn’t help that most people don’t have the time and money to do both PDP and EVO back to back.
I remember the stream commentators said something about 180 something entries.
They should have just put that entire prize pot toward the EVO MK9 tourney. Would have been good for EVERYONE. Less venue cost and 100% more hype.
Plus that whole PDP stick or nothing rule was stupid. How many events has fucking Madcatz sponsored without trying to strong-arm the community like that?

Sad fact is that the venue-only controller rule will be somehow used by stupid organisers as justification to ban BYOC for years to come.
I would have thought this would have more attendance by the MK crew though, especially since there weren’t many good players and easy money with a non-traditional prize distribution. SF community players doing well itself does say a bunch of things.
EDIT: PerfectLegend getting blown up on stream for wanting to play on pad. I take back my statement then. First time I’ve seen pad banned lol.
