I hope they’ll nerf Raiden soon - right now his gameplay is too herp derp compared with all other characters.

Raiden is so stupid in this game - at least with the other characters you see a strategy - Raiden is just flying around with random air torpedo hoping to catch people in the air, doing teles either deliberately or randomly hoping to catch you unaware, or shooting ex electric hoping to catch people in the back.
He’s like Blanka on crack with the safest move in the game (teleport) and great normals. Fuck this shit, nerf his ass.
I don’t know how any Raiden can win doing random supermans. Or any competent player can lose to it.
How to play Raiden:

Jump back -> air torpedo

Did air torpedo hit? then do jump in punch to standard block string tricks.

Air torpedo didn’t hit? Now you’re far away from the opponent, spam electric bolts until the opponent decides to spam projectiles too. Once opponent spams projectiles, do teleport and do standard block string tricks.

Opponents knock you down? Tele. If they’re starting to punish tele, torpedo.

Add in random teles or air torpedos once in a while to punish anyone jumping or doing anything wrong while Raiden is doing tele.
- get beat by anyone who knows what the are doing.
Truth. A torpedo-fest Raiden has NOTHING on me. Though I only know that from offline.
Just noticed that Justin Wong is using the pad for MK…
Thoughts on this? Is the pad better for MK because of the block button? I tried pad when the game first came out but my thumb just couldnt tolerate it.
PDP is coming up and they are forced to play on their sticks…you would think these guys would be practicing on them.
It’s all preference. I just play on pad because I played pad for MKDC and it’s just comfortable.
Yeah I understand that but this is Justin Wong we’re talking about. That guy has been playing on sticks since…I dont even know, forever. For him to play MK9 tonight on pad was kind of weird. So even if he does prefer it over the sticks, shouldnt he be practicing on the sticks now for PDP?
Unless of course he plans on just playing for fun and not caring for his placing at PDP. The prize pot is too big to not care about to be honest.
Justin plays pad for MK because he doesn’t like the MK layout and the block button on stick.
He is still practicing and playing on the PDP stick for that tourney, just like everyone else is.
Well anyway, I’m too hyped for PDP, couple more days left. Should be a good watch.
Seems like most of the fgc prefers this game on pad anyway.
