We’re bashing games for being “complicated” now? c’mon, I highly doubt games like Guilty Gear put in things like FRC’s, Slashbacks and the like for the sake of making it more complicated. Sometimes that stuff is just part of the game. If GG took out FRCs, not only would a big chunk of depth be taken out of the game, but a crapton of fun. I’m sure a lot of MvC2 players who mastered a ROM could say the same thing about their game.
It all depends on the game, really.
…with that said, a combo cancel type system would be so killer in MK9. Nothing crazy like FRC’s, but imagine the possibilities if you could simply cancel out your attack animation, for say 1/3 bar.
No, we’re bashing games for being retarded. GG is a good game, some games just have shit that seems to exist for no other reason than to make the system more esoteric.
It reminds you of Tekken because it has old mk3 throwbreak rules and mids, but not old mk games that share all the same mechanics minus the run button?
I think I’ve gotten my Smoke down vs AI as best as I can, PSN needs to get back up. I haven’t touched online yet. Now I’m trying to pick a secondary… either Ermac, Baraka, Reptile or Noob…
I pointed out that it was a weak comparison, and that the new MK has more in common with the old MK games. What was remotely outrageous about what you quoted? All I did was disagree.
Seriously, for both MvC3 and MK9 you had a lot of people whining how simple the game was and that they weren’t having fun exploring combos in trianing mode because they had figured out 90%+ of what could have been done on day 1. Any new mainstream game out people are always disappointed because apparently they thought they were getting a game that required 2500 inputs every 4 seconds.
Same thing will happen with SF X Tekken. Everyone will be super hyped then once they realize that it isn’t a GG game on crack in terms of depth they will be disappointed once again they got such a simplistic game.
When selecting a character press start instead of A. Press start again over the costume if you have unlocked it. There are only 2 colors per character so when people who choose the same character with the same costume won’t get mixed up.
Literally no one on the thread so far has asked for more mechanics and moves etc. Some want more depth (personally I think it’s too early to say). Depth =/= more mechanics and moves. It was a misrepresentation. Maybe someone said that about other games, but no one here has.
Anyway moving on, here’s a reupload of Skarlet’s glitchy fatality. Get it while you can:
