This is what it seems like to me, I’ve actually managed to tech throws by accident just hitting FP.
All throws are teched with either FP or FK. Doesn’t seem to work if you hit both though.
In the guide on this site is says to hit fp and fk. Makes it sound like you’re supposed to hit them together.
The guide is wrong. It’s FP or FK to tech.
FP breaks forward throws and FK breaks back throws. It’s 50/50 if you choose one, but really you can usually tell where you are going to be thrown since most good players are going to try to move you to a corner.
Wonder how many frames you get to tech the throw, I know it’s not a lot. There may be a way to piano both fp and fk fast enough to tech any throw.
Has the online in this game gotten better? I’ve been playing, but just Challenge Tower and a few Arcade ladders. All I’ve had the time for, really.
That was the demo. the final game is just one button for either throw.
and I’ve been watching the stream for a while, not bad week one, but still alot of dropped combo’s and poor punishing, except for the guy in the winners bracket going into final, his Kung is very nice.
how many bars of meter do I need?
what stream?
You need two bars to do a Breaker. Remember, you don’t build meter when hitting an opponent.
that fist hit is extremely important then.
Really? That stream had some of the poorest play I have ever seen in a tournament. That includes the finals. The execution was fine (they were hitting good combos), but none of them seem to know how to actually play a fighting game.
For instance, two Kung Laos were in the finals, but only because everyone jumped towards each other repeatedly (apparently they couldn’t figure out that Kung Lao’s Spin is a great anti-air that leads to a combo). There were only a couple of punished Kung Lao Spins, even in the final (blocked or not). No one was punishing teleports (which was especially sad because, in the Finals, both players were teleporting).
yea, Spooty I noticed. Everyone was playing this shit like SSF4 Online. Dumb jumpins. Not punishing.
Anybody know exactly what Jade’s ex shadow flash does? When I played a CPU that put that up it seemed to give her Hsien-Ko-like hyper armor or something.
Why can’t you record an action for a dummy in this game? Jesus.
It wasn’t just Mk, did you see the MvC3 play?
I only mentioned the Kung lau player becuase he wasn’t dropping any combo’s and his combo’s were more than just 20%, unlike that Ermac or nightwolf.
But I’m hopeful after the game is out more, we’ll see better play on streams.
I know jack shit about MK9 even after having it for this whole week, but can you even punish Kung’s spin? I hear over and over that it’s safe.
Havnt dicked around with his Spin yet. On block not. Whiff hell yea.
But its not just his spin. they weren’t punishing a lot of punishable shit.
You can punish it, but it has alot of pushback on block, so it’s really hard mid screen. it’s much easier to punish it on block in the corner.
Honestly. Makes exploring what certain moves do a pain in the ass.
And for fuck sake makes your bosses hard(mainly have troubles with Shao), not cheap. Trying to complete the ladder with every character is honestly pisding me off. Fucking idiots.
You can punish it with a dash-up combo, but it is hard mid-screen. You can easily punish it with something quick mid-screen. Hell, they didn’t even try to throw a projectile to punish Spin.
