I’m currently in training mode with Jade. She seems like a very complete character with all the tools a character needs to win. Protection and shadow kick are ridiculously fucking good, and the range she has on her command normals is nothing short of absurd. If any of her long range launchers hit, she’s guaranteed a combo no matter how far away she is, even if it’s just double shadow kick.

I can already tell im going to recieve a lot of hate mail for using Stryker haha. I sit back and zone with gun and grenade spam and try to catch them off guard with the roll throw every once in a while. If I am facing a teleport character I obviously change my gameplan up but it is more or less the same… just have to be much more careful.

When the get in I usually uppercut them if their jump spacing is shitty or I go for his low to overhead chain and hopefully connect and try and land his combo (Strykers combos are actually pretty difficult holy shit).

Also, why is everyone using a number notation for combos? With so many variations of mapping people are using it’s hard to tell the correct button.

Stupid of me for overlooking the properties of ending with flamethrower, it keeps them grounded so you can dash in and go crazy.

As for Jade, I think she’s pretty good. She’s interesting to play as, but she doesn’t seem safe enough to me. I’ve seen and tried combos that start with jumping punches and b.fp, but if those get blocked you’re going to get your shit pushed in. Started playing her less and less in favour of Kitana as a secondary character. Maybe I’m just not being creative enough?

My friend does the exact same shit with Stryker and he gets like no Hate mail.

I really hope EVO is tag team. There’s so much more depth in the game with assists and team construction. Cyrax laying bombs along with Sektor’s EX Missile assist is a beast. Plus it’s just more fun to watch.

What’s do ya’ll think about Kano. I was messing around with him in Training and he seems fun. has an unblockable x-ray throw for 41%, that seems like the most damaging X-ray in the game. His projectiles also do more damage than the average fireball. He seems like a shoto, throwing out knives and anti-airing with rising balls. full screen punish with roll, and down ball in the air gives him good mobility and escapes out of the corner. EX Rising balls also turns into a blanka rainbow roll so get around projectiles too.

I’ve been working on one combo for him so far.

b+1,1,2 dash, 2,1,2, dash, 2,1,2 into ball- rising or straight, either works and does the same damage. I find rising ball is easier to combo into. does about 33%, can do more with a jump in punch or a ex ball at the end.

I was playing with Kabal in story mode and lol at this:

I main Kano as of now, I think people are really sleeping on him.

His ex moves are meh but his super imo is the best super in the game…

I can’t wait to get this game! Liu Kang and Sub Zero shall be my mains but I will definitely dabble with Scorpion, Raiden, Kitana, and Stryker.

I am 120% satisfied with this game. I was worried after playing the demo, but the full game is fantastic. I’m not a good player by any means, but to me it really feels like UMK3. It’s a blast to play, it’s just a shame that PSN is down… Sigh, good timing there. I want my retro Reptile DLC and online play dammit.

this is top tier noob question but how in da icy hell do I use my combo breakers?

His sweep also have a huge range too, it’s surprising how far it reaches. And his basic throw does almost as much as Jax’s entire quad slam throw, which is a pain to pull off on pad.

I’ve been using the b+1,1,2 as a starter instead of 2,1,2. it hits crouchers unlike 2,1,2 and it’s easier for me to connect the dash 2,1,2 off of.

He does lack any good mid or low string starters. b+2,3 into ball works for around 20% more or less, but that’s it.

He seems like a more defensive player, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

We might need to make a Kano thread.

During your opponent’s combo, you hold block and tap forward. Throws and projectiles can’t be broken in this way.

I thought that got changed from demo, to now every throw is teched the same way with just FP?
