MK9 @ Evo 2011: Censored?

fatalities should be funny, not gross, I think you’re thinking about it too hard. For kids they are “whoa cool didjoo see that!”, for adults they are hahahahilarious.

edit: but to each their own and all that, just saying you might be looking at them the wrong way. Mortal Kombat is more Dead Alive than Saw, imo

if you dont want to see fatalities, then WIN and dont do one.

you really probably shouldn’t even play this game if you’re gonna be a weenie about it.

I’m almost 30 as well, and I never saw Hostel or any of the Saw films.

The violence in this MK has me grinning though, I think it’s hilarious.

:3

Top 8 only. Big screen fatalities are money.

People will go nuts both at home and at EVO for fatalities. EVO may be a family event but you just threw an M rated game into the lineup. I think just let them stay and put a disclaimer before or something. Besides, if I remember right I didn’t see too many whenever a match ended in casuals or tourney, it was just uppercuts.

You will see as many fatalities at Evo as taunts in Sf4.

It’s more offensive to ban shit that 99% of your scene (attendees) does not ban. You think any venues playing MK up to EVO are going to ban them at their events? Hell nah. You think anyone with a console, besides sensitive poster a few above me, will turn them off when playing at home? Hell nah.

I understand the argument about time, but public image? It’s like being more worried about the people who do not or ever will play than the people who actually do spend the time and money to play, practice, and attend these events.

this.

Maybe you should have thought this through a little more, if you have to censor fatalities it wouldn’t make sense to not ban x-ray moves either. Those are just about as violent as the fatalities themselves.

Ahem…

Fatalities should be discouraged I think ONLY for the sake of time. Although, fatalities on the big screen do generate hype amongst the spectators. I’m mainly going based off what I saw at ECT when they put UMK3 on the big screen.

let it rock

take it out, the load times in between games take up enough time.

I think fatalities should only be used at the end of the deciding match. not every match.

too bad the almighty PS3 cant dl the game to the hdd like the 360 version does. load times on the 360 are very tiny.

One -ality per set.
Any time during the set.

Let. It. Rock.

Fatalities should only be allowed during last match of a set. It makes sense flavorwise and is a good compromise to people who think that it will soak up a lot of time.

I honestly think that would generate more hype so people don’t get too tired out from multiple fatalities. Eventually the novelties wear off from doing it too much. I like this idea a lot.

MK9 will be played at midnight,so families will not be offended. :nono:

mk9 at midnight for the finals? the semi’s? the pools? is the schedule posted somewhere?
