who the hell cares about fatalities? they are funny the first 3 times and then just plain boring. I dont think any of the high level players will do one anyways.
I thought this was more about the blood & damage textures and x-rays. there is a code to turn off blood & damage though. people being upset about this just shows that many mk players care about the gore more than the actual game.
Yup, you are right. We shouldnt take having a little fun in the game and should focus on being 200% serious…
Its fun, thats why, but at the same time, for such an important event like Evo, limiting that fun is necessary. 19 years later, playing MK with a bunch of people around, watching, people still got hype and cheered and booed (booed for no fat’s lol) so no, its not more important than gameplay but it IS fun.
i agree with the keep it top 8 for fatalities or just on the deciding match
fatalities should not be regulated. It wasn’t back in the arcades when i was young. It was essentially the best Attitude Adjustment to give in the game.
Bring the fatalities.

Sort of a bizare split we have here its like the pseudo intellectual arguement meets the gore factor meets the fact that the prerequisite to doing a fatality is winning the rounds (which I think a lot of people posting here won’t be placing high enough @ Evo for it to matter that their games be streamed or on stage, or not).
So in light of all this I do think we should be playing this with 9-0-0, 9-0-0 which is infact no blood mode. Battle damage remains, blood is removed (better for gameplay as consoles specifically the PS3 chokes on Kratos Stage/Street Level) and fatalitities are skipped (which in essence makes the rounds faster and better to watch, the flow of gameplay is higher).
I have seen every stage fatalitity for the enth time, if I was on stage for the first time playing MK I would do them for the stream and obviously its a bitch slap taunt I can get away with after I won sort of like “I beat you up and then I rip off your head”.
Couldn’t care less now that the game is out. We all have seen the fatals, unless a Baraka makes top 16 I don’t need to see them again.

Perhaps I’ll worry about the fact I have nobody in which to practice versus rather than if we’re going to doing fatals ontop of extremly repetitive button checks. Its button check and fatals - the game!
Do the players and tournament organizers a favor by playing with no blood. All the drama for nothing, watch the MK fatals on youtube or next time you wanna wank watch them instead on your own time.
I don’t care about the censorship I am infact more bitter this game isn’t on PC where if we were to be playing on a tournament PC @ the Venue we could stream it easier, make the system beefy to skip load times and maybe even have an online experience worth our time.
I’ll be playing MK9 @ Evo on a keyboard just for my “bring this shit to PC” statement.
TLDR: No blood for evo is 9-0-0 or do 6-6-6 for Zombie mode whichever you want but for shit sakes the fatals are so, how could I put this - finished.
