I don’t know where you grew up, but where I come from “we’re looking into it” means “we’re looking into it”. Sounds like a pretty direct answer to me.
It’s not just the awful lag which is a joke considering they boasted about how good the netcode is.
All the other stuff about online too is awful. Things like you get a win and it gives you a loss or your opponent disconnects and you get a disconnect registered. Half the people’s stats say 1000 wins and 1000 losses.
And it takes ages to find a fight - it searches forever.
They can’t even allocate wins and losses properly or match people up quickly and none of that has anything to do with lag - it’s basic programming.
I cannot seriously believe they went live with none of the basics working or that WB have the gall to charge people for online at the moment.
on topic…online is a bit less miserable…only because i’ve figured out that i should not play ranked matches, koth(even tho i love it), or hang out in rooms where i get challenged by people who are not looking at the green bars/connection AT ALL.generally when i find someone who i can play against with minimal lag i just try and talk/be nice to em so they stick around for a few fights.
can only deal with this for about an hour at a time. or 10 minutes if i get back-to back sheeva-tele-lag-spam.

Online Mode goes from totally unplayable 2 seconds delay to really nice latency like 50ms. I find the waiting time much more annoying, waiting like 10 Minutes for one 1v1 is kinda bullshit if you ask me. Ah yeah, KotH is unplayable laggy all the time.

This thread is making me doubt picking this game up. I was going to pick it up at the end of next week when finals are over, but if the netcode is as bad as I’ve read, I’ll probably pass. There’s no scene that I know of around here so all I have is online…

The game is really great on a lot of different levels, and the story mode is awesome…but if online play is important to you, I sadly have to recommend you skip MK for now. Sucks to write that, but money is tight these days for people, so I feel the need to be honest; MK is an amazing game with a huge black eye, and it’s not going to be worth the money to people who get their primary competition online. Bummer, huh?
Keep an eye out though; if the netcode gets fixed, this is an amazing game.
Completely understand because I usually don’t mess with a game if the online is crap even if the offline stuff and overall gameplay is good.
Despite that I still got the game and I don’t regret it. The offline stuff is probably some of the best you’ll find in a fighting game and I usually could care less about it in other fighters. I also have faith (maybe blind faith) that the online issues will work out in the end, but I still enjoy this game a lot.

Hope the netcode gets fixed soon, picked the game up and really enjoy it (the non-online portion). After about an hour or two online I got into about 6 or 7 ranked games… and about 2 of them were playable to the point where I wasn’t dropping every combo I tried.
I also got dropped on about 3 of those matches and have disconnects registered to me now which sucks. I realize this has all been stated many times in this thread, just wanted to rant a little bit. 
I’m getting about 2-3 playable matches of an evening by trawling ‘UKONLY’* rooms.
The game will also de-synchronize if you tap multiple buttons in quick succession i.e FP+BP x 3
- What part of UK only are people struggling with by the way?

I havent been following any mk news as of late because i quit playing it after i played online, and realized it was utter shit due to lag. Last i heard they were fixing it within two weeks, but it seems its been longer than two weeks now. So are they “fixing” it by actually doing something about it, or are they just gonna wait until people stop caring and buy the mk collection, i mean Kollection and move on. And dont say its my connection, because every other game i play online is not laggy, only mk. Any updates would be appreciated, because if they dont fix this pile of garbage called online, then i might aswell sell mk for ssf4 ae.:tup:
Yo, I’m in London and most of my matches have been great. The KoTH matches I’ve entered have been good, but after a while it starts to lag. I think it’s the person that enters the lobby last though… When the dude who came in when the lag started leaves the connection seems to go good again. My player matches outside of rooms are about 50/50 and 90% in that 000London room I was in yesterday, but I have rarely touched player matches outside of a room (I will play it more today). Or I’m just lucky, don’t know.
Takes a bit to find a ranked match most of the time though. When I first start ranked I got games pretty quick, now it’s taking so long.
