I think online will improve but I don’t know to what extent yet. They will never give us a concrete answer. I speculate that they’re improving it as a gradual process rather than correcting all the problems with lag and delay. We’d already have our hopes up from messages in the stream from someone like Tom Brady if that were the case.
Skip to 18:30 to hear one of NRS’ lead developers specifically say netcode will be dramatically improved in the next patch.

Actually, you are the one who is wrong.
Routers allow you to put certain machines into DMZ mode. i dont know of any router that allows one to have unfiltered traffic to all machines.
Considering the fact that we have subnetting now, and traffic needs to be sent to certain machines all at the same IP address, its not really effective to have DMZ for the entire network (which IS what you are saying)
DMZ is perfectly fine for the average person. There are security risks, but if you only have it pointed at the console, its more than likely not going to result in anything negative. Most “hackers” arent hackers, and are total script kiddies and arent capable of doing anything other than infecting someones computer with a remote admin tool.
There are also security risks with port forwarding, and even more with just plugging directly into the modem (which is essentially the same thing as DMZ as all firewalls are taken down)
in fact, there are security risks with even going on the web. Get over it. If you were concerned with security, you wouldnt use microsoft windows.

Well I got to try to input my code today, and boom it keeps telling me that the “service is undergoing maintenance.”
has this happened to any of you?
You won’t be able to redeem your code on PSN until the PlayStation Store is back up in full capacity, so for now you just have to wait it out.
PSN is/was down at the moment, I got the same error message. Try again when everything is up and running again.
So the only thing holding me back from buying MK is the netcode, I already rented the game and had a blast playing with my friends.
About this patch coming to fix the netcode…how much information is available so far? Not that I think it will miraculously make it godlike, but I’m expecting it to be playable.
Has WB given any timeline on when this netcode patch will be released?
Tried playing online again for the first time in a week … it seems now it is worse than before. pretty much everyone i tried to connect to immediately came up as “unavailable” even though we had 4 green dots. this wasn’t the case before.
i also can’t believe how lame the online MK community is. it seems like having shitloads of disconnects is common. i saw some guy who was like 43/37 with 23 disconnects. like wtf?
then i saw some guys who were like 900/200 or so with over 100 disconnects.
maybe those disconnects were simply desyncs/connection time out… judging by how awful the netcode is
i know for sure that i got disconnected during a match the very first time i played online. think about it
well considering i have i think like 600 matches online or so and have 3 total disconnects, 2 of them being with the same guy who i had green bars with, and how much i’ve gotten ragequit on in MK compared to any other fighter online, i’m going to go with my theory.
I have frequently been getting messages “The Game session is no longer available”. Sometimes when I’m in the middle of a match sometimes when I’m looking for a match. Often I’ll get the message and then get kicked back to the offline Main Menu and have to reconnect online.
Is this an issue with the netcode or my internet connection. My Time Warner cable internet hasn’t been the greatest, thankfully I’m moving in a few weeks LOL
