MK Netcode - is this for real? UPATE: 1.02 PATCH IS LEGIT!

Then why are you STILL here moaning? They can’t fix it nor attempt to to, right? Too little too late, right? Then sell the damn game.

Lmao…So sad.

Great, then you will go to your local game store and get rid of your copy of MK9. This should be your last post.

not sure how NRS stating, 1 week after the game launched, they are going to patching some parts of the online modes in 2 weeks is “too little too late”

This is a debate? I thought debates required two sides to have valid points, not where one is crying about something he can readily fix on his own by selling his copy.

The product is fit to be played, which is the purpose of the product.

I’m not a Brit, but if the entitlement culture there is as bad as the attitude you have displayed here, your country has more problems than just MK. I shouldn’t make assumptions, however. I think you are just a rare case.

Sell your game, be done with this and save us from your idiocy.

Seriously, just go. You won’t be missed.

He is still going at it…?

Good lord, enough with the trolling lol.

seriously. your trolling is lackluster.

wheres a mod when you need one

what do you have to do to get banned around here?

We also had local arcades back in the day. Also I think bad netcode and bad/broken game balance are not really comparable. Though I am happy with the game despite the bad netplay.

So… I am not the only one with 1-2 second delay, huh?

Thought it would be my crappy connection, haha

Im really enjoying the game myself. Ive never ever been good at a MK game. I used to play it back in the days but used to get rocked. I really like the fighting engine, the story is actually done very well, and the total package of the game is great. Only thing holding it back is the netcode. If they get the netcode up to par, this game could really take off.

for sure. it sucks that my locals arent really playing this. i really hope that they can make good with their words this time

I really like the game but the online is unplayable… lucky i only rented it.

If you rented it how did you play online? I hope you didn’t pay the $10. :frowning:

This does not affect your statuatory rights. If you think this is the case, the UK would be forced to offer a reimbursement to all parties complaining about the online functions in this game.

Seriously mate, what do you want fixed? Drop NRS some contact details stating your discontent. NRS aren’t going to prowl SRK boards to read your infinite posts about the online functionality. It seems the only way to please you is to either a) return the game for a full refund, if GAME/gamestation/etc will take that as an excuse, or b) make a time machine and convince the old self of yours to not to buy the game. Sorted.

I’m more interested in what they have to say after they release said patch.
Only then can you evaluate the support NRS gives their customers.

Don’t you get a 24hr or so trial?

had some sheeva scrub just send me hate that I quit on him because I was a pussy when in fact the input delay was so bad I could not do anything to avoid the constant Down, up, Down+BP and thats all he did all match and thinks he knows how to play … Jesus.

Added this fool to my friendemies list, really hope NRS give us a decent patch so I can take this moron to school.

I think it’s 48.

I think NRS is shooting themselves in the foot by not having official regional rooms. The best the netcode can hope for is Kaillera-level smoothness, not GGPO. Naturally, someone from eastern Canada isn’t going to be fighting a guy from Malaysia on Kaillera with any kind of satisfactory result. Does that mean Kaillera is bad? No, it just means the netcode can’t handle that kind of latency. By not including permanent regional rooms to help matchmake people in similar geographical areas, people are left to either create them themselves or go to one of the generic rooms (Hell, Outworld, etc.). Even people with shitty connections still show up as 4 bars for me, but for all I know they could be in the UK and I definitely don’t want to be playing Kaillera-style netcode with someone that far away.

Seriously, if anyone at NRS reads this thread, consider making East, West and Central North American rooms, a room for Mexico, a room for South America, a room for Eastern and Western Europe, a room for China, Japan, etc., etc… Make them official and permanent so they show up at the top of the list and attract players.

Or make the bars in rooms accurate to the actual latency. I notice people who show up as 4 bars before challenged often show up as 2 or 1 bar in KOTH mode.

I couldn’t agree more.

They are already trying to fix things, this has been taken from the official forums:

There were some server connectivity issues that were repaired yesterday. That’s why your stats disappeared for a few hours then came back.*

I will say this…all the problems in MK9 aren’t really in the gameplay…which is already a step up from every other time.

But this should be a lesson to all developers…the basic things ARE important…

The matchmaking in this game is totally broken. My last EIGHT (maybe more) Player Matches I have been matched against players in the US, I’m in the UK.
