MK Netcode - is this for real? UPATE: 1.02 PATCH IS LEGIT!

‘niggas’? really? It’s not the 90’s anymore sonny, you can stop trying to impress the black folk now.

Please explain what on earth you mean by spoiled with respect to a broken game like MK? This should be interesting.

And if a game was released, prior to the rise of the internet, that didn’t work, it would still be subject to the same legal conditions: it must work as advertised.

Laws like that exist for obvious reasons, look them up.

quintuple post? REALLY?!!
there’s a fuckin edit button dude, USE IT!

you’ve only been here for 1 week and you’re already annoying the shit out of everyone…

Can’t you read or soemthing? Five posts is too much for you? FFS!

The multiple post feature doesn’t work, if you don’t want multiple posts - there’s your answer!

This kid is really annoying.

Cant read, cant formulate a coherent sentence, cant even post without failing miserably.

At first I thought he was just trolling, but after reading through a few pages of his dumb shit its pretty obvious he is just an idiot.

What is incoherent, badly written, or illiterate about the sentence you quoted? Or are you just solely interested in shouting people down, like the other idiots here? I’ve had nothing but abuse off you people and yet you seem to think that’s acceptable? Why is that? Lack of social skills? Bullied as a child? I haven’t done a damn thing to provoke nonsense like this and yet cunts like you think it’s perfectly acceptable, page after page, to resort to nastiness and bile. Get a life you prick.

I think everyone needs to clam down. Isnt this Netherelm studios first fighting game? Just be happy that it is 2011, netcode can be patch and they are aware of the current issues. Give them some time, hopefully they will fix them.

To bitch for a daily update for a problem that requires one statement is pretty much asking them to rock you to sleep in comfort.

There is an old saying, caveat emptor, which in Latin means “Let the buyer beware”. If the product is defective, too bad, that is on you unless the seller knowingly sold you a defective product. There is no law that protects you from a bad product, however, and I think it is HILARIOUS that you actually believe there is. You either return/sell it and stop supporting NRS, or you shut up and deal with the service they give you. Those are your options as a consumer.

Also, did I say they would actually fulfill their promises and everything will be sunshine and gumdrop? When did this happen? Again, either NRS does fixes their problem and you continue supporting them, or they don’t and you can stop supporting them. Dem logics.

I’m sorry but what the fuck are you talking about? Happy that it’s 2011? This is Mortal Kombat number 9. It’s not their first game at all, as if that was at all relevant. If they don’t know how to design video games, they probably shouldn’t have tried.

You need to get that chip off your shoulder and stop using provocative hyperbole as a way to try and debate me.

And there is a law that says, in the UK, that products must be fit for the purpose they are sold. This isn’t the middle ages, we have proper laws to stop people selling any old tat in any old condition. Perhaps you feel those rules don’t apply to video games. You’d be wrong. Now if you want to sit on your hands and wait - however long it takes - for NRS to *try *and patch their game, that’s entirely your prerogative. It shouldn’t be the default position when you are charging money for products and advertising them as working.

What’s hilarious is your complete ignorance of the law, though that presumes you live in a country that isn’t a banana republic or some such backwater. I don’t know, nor do I care.

I didn’t say you did.

But i’m not prepared to sit and wait with only a broken product to show for it and nothing more than some vague hope that this entire mess can be properly sorted out, and neither should you.

It’s going to take a lot more than a patch to fix this game.

I guess since you are new at fighting games you dont know how good we have it these days. Back in the days, when a fighting game was released that was it. No internet, no live updates, no anything. Any broken mechanics, glitches and bugs were there and you had to either accept it or move on. So that could be why you have no clue what I was getting at. Yea the Netcode isnt as good as it should but this isnt set in stone like it would back in the days. If you are this angry about the game, then return it or trade it in. You didnt have to buy it to begin with.

The devs have stated that they will be patching the netcode. Seriously, what else do you want?

Been having fun with Carmen Sandiego recently? I only ask because I have to wonder where in the world you’ve been for the last nineteen years.

Fun fact: The game works, netcode and all. It may not work well, but this would be akin to attempting to use this law to file suit on Company A because their cleaning product doesn’t clean “as well” as Company B’s. You’re not covered by that particular law in this case, I’m sorry to tell you.

I really want to know where you’re getting this idea. Patches on current-gen platforms work in exactly the same way as DLC, and there are plenty of examples where games have been entirely overhauled or redesigned with DLC (in fact, there’s one to be added to the list this June), so a simple rewrite and patch issue to fix the game’s netcode is entirely viable. This could make the patch in question and future patches a bit on the large side in terms of filesize, but it is by no means impossible. So no, it’s not going to take any more than a single, simple patch to fix this game as far as the technology is concerned.

Regardless, dude, you’re literally the worst troll ever. I would know. Until I saw you posting here, I assumed I was the worst troll ever. Fact of the matter is, if you’re not happy with the game, take it back to the store for a refund and forget about it. There’s absolutely no reason for you to continue whining about it short of being a troll for the sake of trolling, or for getting attention (what are you, twelve?). You made your point, we get it, you’re not happy. Now shut the fuck up about it.

This guy…lol.

Last 19 years Ive been playing Capcom fighters.

yea i gotta say this ghost whistler dude is going a little overboard and starting to make not much sense.

serious question ghost whistler … what do you want NRS to do about this right now that would make you feel better?

as others have stated, they alread gave us a statement (while vague) that they are aware of online issues and will have something in a couple weeks.

as a developer, there is a very specific reason they aren’t giving anymore details than that, and it is flat out because they don’t want to make promises they can’t keep. and they probably don’t know if they can fix certain things or not, or makes lag better, etc, because they haven’t investigated it more and need to. and once they do investigate it, THEN they can make decisions about what they can fix and what they can’t.

the way you are talking in this thread is that you think they can just flip a switch, and voila, the netcode feels better than ssf4. that just is not even remotely close to being a realistic situation. and with the way the whole game engine is built and framework of their systems, they may not even be able to make it better.

Actually, arcade games way back in the day would go through firmware revisions that would sometimes alter gameplay. MK2 had a few revisions, and I recall gameplay changing a lot between KI version 1 and KI version 2.

But yeah, no internet updates for console versions.

What sucks about the netcode is they should have known it was shit before it was shipped. Oh well, maybe MK10 will be better. Since MK9 is the first big improvement gameplay wise in the series in 20 years, I’m hopeful.

No, he’s right. NRS hasn’t been around for 19 years.

Too little, too late

The game doesn’t work online. Comparisons aren’t relevant.

Because as i’ve said: the netcode isn’t the only problem. The entire online interface is inept, poorly designed and actively works against the player. What good is netcode if you can’t find a match? Even then you still don’t have dcent search options. Complete and total fail.

Instead of pissing and moaning, why don’t we let me decide what and when I shall post, and if it bothers you so much you can either ignore it or shut the fuck up.

If they didn’t, they haven’t a hope of understanding how to fix it.

In case I hadn’t made the troll point abundantly clear, this is essentially an admission after the fact.

Keep on rockin’ in Midgar, my friend.
