MK community overly sensitive to losing?

No shit this is SRK. Didnt you think for a second that I play SSF4 and MvC3 online? Well just in case that you didnt, I sure as hell do and from my experience MK online players are far worst. Asking me not to pick a specific character in a fighting game? Are you fucking serious? I was playing today for a few hours and every set I had rarely got past the first match. I never have experienced this before in any other game. Thankfully before I had to go I finally got someone to actually give me a set. A very good Sub Zero player. Hes probably from SRK.

No one is taking anything serious. Just making a thread to talk about it. Not starting a website or a petition or whatever else people do these days.

mortal kombats lolgore attracts allot of scrubby kids who will call anything you do cheap if you beat them, give it a month or so and most of them will piss off back to halo or cod or whatever it is they play

You hate MvC3/Super because you don’t understand them. The things you listed apply in both games, SSF4 especially.

pretty much. it feels like why certain things happen is ingrained into a deep and, maybe archaic system of checks and balances that you dont see until its already happened. im not just talking about frames, just properties of moves that dont feel as well shown while your playing it than maybe if you sat and read a 300+ page book detailing every single aspect of the game to its bare specs.

i guess what i want is a game thats makes its rules clearly visible while playing the fight so that when you lose or win you know the how as well as the why and thus can become a better player for it. when that happens i think fighting games will be better than they have EVER been.

It’s funny because aren’t people wanting a Marvel 3 level guide for this game? Or at least a training mode where we can actually figure out what’s punishable? We’re all rushing Tom Brady’s online donated tips instead. And the high level play in this game outlines the guide to a T. Getting better at this game is far from being “obvious”.

I should, lol. Idk why I didn’t think to do that.

Although maybe I should wait until the MK9 guide isn’t just a movelist.

I think I or someone I know has run into that guy as well. Very funny person, but I think he’ll be dead within a year due to stroking out from all of that rage.

They really are more sensitive loosing then other communities. I think that’s because alot of them JUST jumped into the game to see gore, which I dont blame them, but that makes them often something like fps players. Who often get salty. Other than that, yeah the win loss ratio, because it publicly displays them.

Haha Its awesome I get tons of hate mail and I’m not even that good…

One guy called me cheesy for freezing him with sub zero

watch from like 6:14 on…hilarious

Beat a guy they leave or you beat a guy they pick Scorp and hellfire then spear rinse and repeat or they choose raiden and teleport grab or superman 50/50 guessing game X 35586 times. The salt in this game is pretty high.

Play Brawl? I dunno lol. Every game outside of that has a ton of things you need to research in order to get good and if they didn’t they’d be extremely shallow.

thats not true, itd simply be different. skill would be determined the same (how well you played a character and how well you “played” the opposing player.), its just now when you DO lose you can honestly say it was YOUR fault and not the game or the player because the game made it easy enough as to why such and such exchange happened and why it didnt work in your favor.

the way i see it is more of a boardgame. the rules are laid out in plain english (or whatever language you speak in), the pieces and move you can make are understood. but how you decide to use them against your opponent is up to you. thats the kind of fighting game i want. and anyone who calls that shallow needs to go play Chess. I dont necessarily believe we’re anywhere near there yet if only because many training modes have been extremely lacking and vague to the player, sometimes JUST BECAUSE. im all for discovery and it definitely must be rewarding for those involved to find something that they didnt expect. but i still think theres something to be said about transparency as well.

anyways, i think developers need to put better systems (WITHIN THE GAME) in place that makes players play smarter and be better combatants. Its something Ed Boon actually talked about to EGM many months ago, but i guess even NRS has failed in this task as well given how poorly the Training mode has been received. anyways, im just hoping someone figures out how to do this because i think itd actually make fighting games somewhat more appealing to people and get more people in tournaments who are Great and not just GOOD.

What is preventing current games from being like this? The only real hidden things in SSF4 are PLinking (not needed) and frame data (can be figured out by playing).

i think frame and box data should be options to be seen in training modes because they mean so much in high level play. just show whatever data that is relevant to the game and that players new and experienced should know about. basically yeah, i want every training or teaching mode to basically be a user friendly version of the MvC 3 Players guide. i dont think thats too much to ask if everybody wants more players that are good competition.

This title is so misleading…

MK community =/= online players.

I would agree when it comes to online play for certain in regards to SSFIV, but I often play it at (free) tournaments even considering I’m barely mediocre at it, just because it’s a good place for me to learn what it is I’m not doing so well.

So far MK9 looks to me like a game that really makes obvious what mistakes you’re making, but I still think learning from your losses online will always be harder than while facing somebody in person (I wish the arcade scene would make a comeback in my area).

they definitely are extremely sore losers and salty as hell in the MK community.

i have about 350 total matches online in this game.

in the 2 weeks or so since it’s been out, i’ve had more ragequits in this game than i had in over 15k matches of sf4/ssf4 online. it is ridiculous.

i was in this KOTH room too and on like a 12 streak and then i saw someone start talking on a mic. it must have been him talking to his friend that just joined or something because he was like ‘this purbeast guy is modding so watch out’

i was just like wtf … beat them 2 more times then just left.

also, it is nearly impossible to play someone more than 1 match in this game if you beat them. they just quit, even if they are decent. i played some guy who had like 600+ wins and i beat him pretty easily, and then he quits after that match. no wonder he has such low losses for 600 wins, cause he loses and quits. that is also why he wasnt that good.

i have had like 2-3 people send nice messages after. i’ve been called the best scorpion 2 times from 2 different people, who were very solid players and we had good matches. that was against the best kitana and smoke that i’ve seen in this game online so far too.

What? Never got rage quitters or something before. Sometimes I use Shang Tsung and beat people with their own characters. Do whatever the hell you want but when I play in King of the Hill nearly everyone gives me +7 or above rating. Basically the difference from playing like a beast or a turtle. Nothing matters but the ride.

“Online scrubs overly sensitive to losing?” should be thread title lol

80% of my ranked games end in a disconnect. I really don’t get it.

MK lacks comeback mechanics like X Factor?
