As far as the console issue is concerned it’s been proven time and time again that capcom-made fighting games just have input lag on PS3. While your timing gets set in one way or another, you gotta ask yourself why would I play a fighting game that has input lag when there is a lagless version that actually responds the way it’s supposed to.
I don’t use it as a crutch though, using the PS3 is just silly and there’s really no arguing it. If your argument is, “I’m used to the PS3 version” that’s not a valid argument. That’s like saying we should hold all tournaments online if you’re used to online lag.
If I had to say anything about consoles , I would rely on the resources of monitors/tvs people have…
Do we have a couple of Asus monitors with the standard 2 frames of lag ? Then run the tournament using 360s .
-Pros: Display quality is better than a CRT .
-Cons: The prices is high compared to a CRT which is a no brainer .
Do we only have around one or no Asus monitors but plenty of CRT tvs ? Then run the tournament using PS3s ( PS3 has 2 frames of delay , CRT has 0 compared to Asus , put two and two together and you equal up 360 with Asus I believe ) …
-Pros: Cheaper and affordable .
-Cons: Quality of the screen is ass compared to an Asus monitor .
So imo , I would prefer 360s for tournaments , but if a certain tournament is unable to get a hold of some Asus monitors , PS3 is a good alternative .

I don’t play Super, I was more referring to MvC. The PS3 and 360 version are slightly different feeling than the DC/Arcade version, though. As for MvC3, can’t tell a difference between PS3 and 360.
