Miscellaneous Ibuki

=O

WOW i didnt even know that bitches even watched third strike games.

You watch 'em… OH!!! Just kidding.

On topic, does Raida (hcb+p) beat non-ex Shoryu’s and jumps if its meaty? Sometimes I think it does, sometimes I think it doesn’t.

I also have a hard time comboing off of j.MK crossup. I ALWAYS get thrown, but other people combo with it all the time. Am I too early? Anyone else have this problem?

Not sure about the raida thing. It might have some ability to do so but usually if the opponent is going for a DP on wake up I usually get hit so it leaves me to believe not so much. If they’re going for like a normal attack or a throw I can beat things on wake up but DP’s will more often than not screw Ibuki.

As for j.MK…you’re probably just hitting it too early. j.MK is a nice angled jump in with decent priority and all that but it doesn’t do much hit stun. You have to make sure you get it to hit pretty deep if you want it to cross up. This is especially important to remember when crossing up characters like Makoto or Hugo who are just looking to grab you the moment you don’t jump in deep enough from an attack. Those characters being able to rape Ibuki’s life with their throws. Which is why if you have meter…EX kunai isn’t bad as a cross up. Does a lot more hit stun even if the cross up range isn’t awesome and it’s a bit safer if you get it blocked etc.

Basically it’s easier to get j.MK cross up to combo if the opponent is crouching. Get a couple frames longer to combo because of the crouch state and instinctively you’ll time your j.MK to hit them closer to the ground. If they are standing (especially if it’s a taller character) you’re just looking to get thrown or punished in some other way since you’ll probably land a bit after they recover from the hit stun.

You guys know how chun can do a low jab after a dive kick against yun and beat his Bnb unless of course the dive kick is deep. Can Ibuki low jab Yun too? or is it too slow?

Ibuki’s low jab is only like a frame slower so yeah…I would assume it would work pretty well. As a matter of fact…because Yun has to be standing in order to do his B and B…you’re better off just hitting s.LP. s.LP comes out just as fast as Chun’s c.LP. I believe Ibuki’s c.LP is one frame slower than Chun’s (3 frames as opposed to 2). Either way…that’s still pretty fast and I’m sure you could use it in a similar fashion. I personally just mash on s.LP since you can just option select parry and if close s.LP hits you can go right into LP,MP,HP chain.

The only reason you might not want to go for s.LP is if you think he’ll got for a low attack. Yun’s c.LK and c.MK make him really short and unless you’re close enough to use close s.LP (which hits crouching people) you’ll get knocked down and set up for Genei Jin or command throw. Which is easy to judge since Yun can’t do BnB unless he’s right next to you any ways.

Anybody seen Kurodas Ibuki? According to Rikimaru he has the best Ibuki.

According to a lot of the JP players, Kuroda is one of the best players period (with any character).

Hey how often do you guys use her command dash in place of a regular dash?

It’s highly dependent on the situation for me.
You do take a ton of damage if you’re hit out of hit and Ibuki’s stamina isn’t that great.

If the other player turtles a lot and tends to react to my moves rather than initiate, I use the command dash a lot to play mindgames.
Set up throws, switch to her command grab, throw in BnB combos, there are a ton of things you can use it for if the other player doesn’t punish it.

If the guy is aggressive, even if it’s button mashing aggressive, I rarely use it.
I stick to much safer options.

what is ibuki’s BnB?

ive looked around can’t really find it

close s.Jab, s.Strong (2 hit), c.RH, RH* is the one i use most often.
You can SJC the second RH and hit with one of her air chains as well.

another is s.mk x raida/EX Tsumuji

I’d consider those her BnBs.

ok those are the ones I use.
I was wondering if it was something other than that.

I’ve been working on trying cl.s.Jab, s.Strong(1hit), s.Fierce, EX Tsumuji
I’m a pad player it’s difficult lol.

But yeah, if I get a standing parry, I usually do the roundhouse combo, SJC to the air TC.

The only player I get to play on a regular basis is a Ryu player.
What’s that matchup like?

Not really sure.
I’ve not played many Ryu players.

I mostly end up playing against Makoto or Yun with my Ibuki.

But for Ryu…
It’s hard because Ryu deals a lot of damage with simple 2/3 hit combos.
And he deals quite a bit of stun.

You really have to be quick to get past a good Ryu player.
He’ll be looking to parry and punish your jump ins if he can.

Watch out for his s.Fierce because it can be canceled into a Shoryu or a Sliding Kick and both of those will do good damage and stun.

I think the matchup is about even. The interesting thing about it is Ibuki kind of forces Ryu into using SA.2 where he might otherwise use SA.1 or SA.3.

But even so, I think it’s a 5:5 matchup.

I feel that it’s dependent on the player.
If Ryu picks Shin Shoryu, I feel that the massive damage Shin Shoryu does tilts the favor 6/4 or even 7/3 in his favor.

If he picks SA3, it’s probably 5/5, and SA4 is probably 5/5 as well.

SA2 just does WAY too much damage if it connects.
It pretty much crushes Ibuki.

Well that’s the only super my friend uses so >XD

I have lots of experience against it so I hardly get hit by it anymore, I’ve learned to play extremely safe against him when he has meter built up.

I’ve been telling him to start using cl.st.HP but he’s starting to.

But yeah it’s really hard to beat his SA2 ryu, but I like it like that, it makes me get better as a player.

Am I mistaken that close MP>LK isn’t posted in the links section?

I’m experimenting with SA2 setups now, mostly including block chains that allow for dash in>SA2 or relaunch crossup stuff.

devil jin, playing ibuki in ssf4?

I really do hope Ibuki is in so i can drop that clown vega.

A couple o matches. I’ve fallen right back into all of my bad habits from before.
