I’m not sure on the frame difference between her EX uppercut and normal one, but just use her normal one then. It’ll knock them down instead.
The normal one doesn’t have any invulnerability frames. It will lose or trade in most situations, even to throws (Ibuki can be thrown out of it’s startup) and is highly punishable on parry/block.
With the EX version you have the invulnerable startup frames and the option to cancel into SA.1 regardless of what they do (which combos on hit).

Very impressive. Enjoyed the read.
Hmm I don’t think I listed this anywhere, but regarding close HK:
-
The first hit of blocked close HK when the second hit whiffs is -6 on block.
-
The second hit is -11 on block but you can HJC it on block so it doesn’t matter.
… And I may or may not have mentioned this stuff elsewhere but I feel like going over it again:
-
LP-MP-HP chain canceled into qcf+LK is -1 on block and =0 on hit.
-
MK canceled into qcf+LK is -3 on block (I think, could be -4)
-
both LP-MP-whiff.HP chain and b+MP-whiff.HP where the HP whiffs a crouching opponent is -2 on block
-
both LP-MP and b.MP where the second hit of the MP whiffs a crouching opponent is =0 on block
-
f+MK is +9 on block, -3 on parry (I think a meaty one is -1 on parry)
-
MK is +1/+2 but the LK-MK chain is +4/+5
-
t+LK is -1/-1, but the MP-t+LK chain is +2/+3
that’s dope. So many free parry setups.
Also, what that information about the parried toward+MK means is that the opponent can’t punish it with a throw even on parry. You can jump out of the throw by just holding up.
And Chun can punish it with a c.LP xx SA.2 on parry, but she can’t do it if it’s meaty.
Q and Makoto supers can punish it on parry (even meaty).
So what is s.MK, qcf+LK on hit?
It’s -3F on hit and block, I just verified.
But it’s -2F on crouch hit (due to the crouch hit bonus).
If you can think of anything else to check (like deep knives or something), let me know.
What about the LP->MP->HP to qcb +HK? It seems sometimes it combos, and sometimes it doesn’t. Can you tell me why it’s inconsistence?
There’s a 7F input window for it to combo starting from the first cancelable frame. The hitstop is 5frames, and the HP animated for 4 frames before the hitstop.
There’s one single cancelable frame right at the end of the cancel where it will un-combo. So it’s a just-frame to make it un-combo a standing character. It’s not possible to un-combo on a crouching opponent.
In other words; you have 8 frames that can be canceled and it will only not combo if you did it on the last possible frame.
Science.
Technology.
-=Random Ibuki Tip=-
One thing that has really been working for me is fishing for parries with the MK slide. Set it up so you just barely hit them with the slide, if you are too deep it doesn’t work. Many players will parry this, figure out their parry ratio and see if its worth continue trying.
So because this slide is so easy to see coming, most people will just block it and then try a crouching whatever into SA. Depending on who you are playing, the shotos almost always go for the Cr.MK, along with Yang, chun so on, you get it.
If you were far enough back when you started the slide, you will almost ways recover before they can counter attack giving you a chance to block. But, why block when you know whats coming?
This is a great way to get some standing MK into raida. Give it a try, its worked great for me.
man that vid was awesome. completely blew me away. i need to better my bookums game.
i’m glad to see that player pull one of my favorite combos out:
st.LP,MP,cr.HK,st.HK
vs yun…
If you have it, buring a SA1 can waste a lot of his Genei Jin time.
If it comes down to that… of course, he’ll have had 2 1/2 Genei Jins by then anyway…
^i do that too…
I make it rain to waste dat time son…
feint?
fuck yeah dude.
Theres all this talking about it, and then there’s that. He’s beating probably one of the best players in the country.
y’all need to step your games up
Dont believe the hype.
Feint gets sooooooooo much pussy cause of his Ibuki, it’s crazy. Bitches love ibuki players.
