This and various other shit about fps I agree with 100%. Shit I remember playing Doom 2 and Duke 3D back in the day on PC, and more recently Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament 2004 (Onslaught mode ftw). So then when I try Halo and CoD on console they feel like 1/3rd the speed, far less twitchy, shitty control with the two sticks, lame characters, and CoD is just shoot a modern firearm into someone’s dome over and over (WHERE ARE THE FUCKING LASERS AND ROCKETS?)… wasd and mouse are to an arcade stick what a x360 pad is to…nevermind
I have nothing against Keits and full respect for him holding tourneys. I guess it’s just my opinion that the games being played are total shit, and with my last experience at Tracks we had 32 signups for AE and 5 for 3s. I don’t want to spend lots of money and drive a long ways unless I know there will be good comp and a larger turnout for the games I play (3s and ST)

I didn’t take you not coming to events personally Keits. I just found it odd that you seem to be all about the community but don’t attend tournaments within your own state. I’d think you’d want to support events closer to GB considering you attend events far away like in Chi/MPLS/La Crosse. You can ask any of the Chicago players that have came to our events we have a great venue and great tournaments. I may not have backing or equipment from a business to run larger tournaments but we certainly all contribute and support and make things happen. We sure as hell have all pulled together tho to build our scene here and I think we’ve done a pretty damn fine job so far. If you ever do decide to come support a tournament here you will see that.
I totally understand. Just to explain, the thinking here is that 3rd Strike Online Edition will be brand new, and we are kind of testing the waters to see if it sparks new interest in the game. I know I’ve heard that Ghaleon might be coming out just to play 3S and ST, and we’ll have plenty of time for casuals, money matches, a team tournament, or whatever it is you want to do.
“Within my own state” is misleading. You guys are two hours away, which isn’t a piddly drive for someone in my situation. But yes, I have heard good things and look forward to a weekend where I can make it down.
The MPLS/La Crosse events I attended were because I was asked to help at those events. My car actually required over 600 in repairs for my trip to Combo Breaker, so even with a 2nd place finish in Marvel I lost quite a bit. I do my best to get out there, I really do 
How is that misleading Milwaukee and La Crosse are both in Wisconsin? Not to nitpick as Choppie would say but La Crosse is definitely more than a 2 hour drive from GB. Just saying. Maybe, you can make it out sometime after UMVC3 comes out considering AE is the more popular game in Milwaukee at the moment.

Unless 3S:O turns out to be the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ, we will never see 3S tourneys near the peak power levels of 04-07. Never. Every game has a finite competitive lifespan and 3S’ has long since expired. I’ve had a difficult time accepting it, but I did, and moved onto SF4. There will always be the small pocket of diehard 3S players (just as there are for every game that was ever competitively played), but to think/hope for a large 3S turnout at tourneys is just wishful thinking at this point.
