dude if its a tournament in chicago with 3s theres gonna be decent comp, im almost 100 percent sure of that. even the chi players that never ever play 3s seem to know the basic bread and butter combos. Oh yeah I’m west side madison all the way, bastard bitch fuck what ya 'eard WESTSYDDEE
swagswagswag
joe: "how long u been west side, bro?"
jaron: “since day 1, 5”
;_; I really want to go to Fighter X Shooter but I don’t think that’ll happen
As far as venue fees go it would be the same as what I payed for UFGT7 because I registered on time. UFGT8 is about 9 months maybe if you don’t want to pay a higher venue fee you could plan for it? Then maybe register when it goes live? I know you generally can’t plan that far ahead but people make it seem like you had to pay 50 when in reality if you registered within a reasonable amount of time you only had to pay 30. 30 dollars for a 3 day event is perfectly reasonable.
Also when you bitch and moan about shooter players or make stupid one-liners towards Keits you look like a fool and make all of Wisconsin look worse. If you don’t want to go to any tournament Keits runs whatever that’s fine, if you want to suggest ways to improve the tournament that’s fine, but if you just want to make misspelled, illogical, shit posts with the hope of starting of flame war or for no reason at all that’s not helping anyone. Some of the shit I’ve read makes bad 4chan posts look like bastions of reason and decency. If you really want to help the community you could try running a large tournament and handling everything that entails. That includes the risk of throwing a large tournament, in order to even throw a tournament on the scale of UFGT you have to put thousands of dollars of your own money up front. If you don’t have a good turnout you have to be ready to lose hundreds or more. If you have success you can invest the money towards running a future event, and maybe even make a small profit with whats leftover for the large amount of time you spent organizing this large event, that’s just how shit works. You can’t realistically expect tournament organizers to lose hundreds of dollars on every event. Keits loves fighting games just like us and wants to support the scene, yet the way I hear some of you talk about him makes him seem like a horrible person. Also if you’re upset about him never coming down to Milwaukee you shouldn’t be. Even if it’s within his means to travel, which it might not be, why would he want to go to a place where many of the people there treat him with large amounts of undeserved hostility. We should be thanking tournament organizers like Keits for running events not insulting them and telling them to piss off.
I agree that some of the keits hate gets out of hand, at least in a public forum. you know at fight nights or whatever it’s different but going in the guy’s own tournament thread and stirring things up does look bad.
I should probably shut it with the cod hate too, but it’s just so fun to waggle my cane at those damned kids.
I’d really like to go to the tournament but I’m not sure just yet. I’ll keep you two guys updated who asked about it though. I’m thinking that just a saturday-sunday would be good, it’d only be the ~$25 or so per person for hotel and then gas and venue fee. That’s not so bad.
So, one of the black ghetto trash that ruined State Fair isn’t being charged with a hate crime enhancer, despite the fact that he even confessed that he specifically targetted white people due to them being white and “easy targets”. What a joke.
My .02 on this whole thing. I did a podcast with Osirun a while back telling him about the scene in WI and Tracks etc. A month or two later Osirun did a podcast with Keits. Osirun asked him if he attended the Tracks tournaments and his reply was that “I don’t like riding in cars for extended periods of time”. I can understand that but, when you show up at tournaments that are 4-5 hours from Green Bay it really just makes it look like a wack excuse. I guess my point is if you flat out don’t want to support something and then are asked about it don’t make up some lame excuse just be real about it and say why you really don’t want to support it.
Also, games on XBL tonight anybody? (crickets chirping)
It really wasn’t a hate crime though per se. If you were to rob a convience store would you go to one in the hood where robberies happen more often but your likely to get less money if anything? (with bulletproof glass and whatnot) or one in a suburb where your almost guaranteed to get more money but less crime happens so the police are gonna be more alert? I don’t think stereotyping people is a crime
Team 3D 3.0 incoming. Doc,Dorm,Doom
Just out of curiosity why all the Keits hate? I can understand if its just cause he’s in the public eye so when he goofs up its more noticeable, but in my dealings with him over the past year he’s been civil, courteous for the most part, and has shown a strong drive to help the scene. I’m sure he’s no saint as we all have skeletons, but whats the problem with the guy? Just the lack of traveling to locals?
I’m also confused to the shooter hate? Is it primarily because its a different game genre or because it comes with a younger crowd? If we expect the fighter scene to grow and if we want a more professional “season” or tournament structure younger players are needed (both for longevity and for sponsor numbers). Sure kids can get unruly sometimes and often aren’t the greatest competition, but neither of those faults get corrected by expecting them to stay in mom’s basement playing online. I know the last tournament I was at had a few players who came out of shooter, Smash Brothers, and sports scenes and were drawn into fighting games via the hype at tournaments and the general level of respect shown between the scene’s players. Its hard to expose players to that via just live-streams or having friends over and gaming.
Anyways, I figure if its 90% shooter kids and our usual 10% fighter crowd then the numbers haven’t changed and we might get lucky and get some converts. Worst case scenario a bunch of kids come for non-fighter games and we all benefit from it in the future by the increased attendance numbers helping to attract sponsors. Which in turn attracts more pros, increases pot prizes, and increases the money that can be put into promotion. Some of you are acting like the Olympics should just be track & field and not include swimming, tennis, etc. We’re not being hurt by this.
I say let’s just all stop fucking posting and just watch VR Troopers.
This is a surprisingly solid plan.
What you said on cost/benefit is definitely a factor. However, his statement to the police is enough to satisfy Ch. 939.645(1)(b), depending on how it is argued (and assuming he’s being charged under armed robbery, it does satisfy the requirement in 939.645(1)(a)).
I’d put money on people facing assault charges would be seeing the enhancer added.
Disclaimer: Argued an MT about 8 years ago that involved the hate crime enhancer, so it rings some bells (and I’m a sucker for reading up on law and legal jargon). Not a lawyer, cannot provide legal advice, post does not constitute legal advice, yadda yadda.
if you actually play FPS, you DONT play on a console… that just goes without saying.
You scared me for a second. I thought the old Counter-Strike team 3D was suddenly making a comeback.
Glorious PC master gaming race, etc etc.
And if you think I have a problem with the shooters at FxS, chances are you’re putting words in my mouth. Just some deranged old man waving a cane.
I hate the shooter crowd because its popularity has made almost every other genre worse. Every game has to be like CoD because that’s what’s popular. Every game is trying to be more scripted and easier to play and more “rewarding” with bullshit pop-ups and perks and things to tell you, “Hey man, you’re awesome and doing such a good job, man”. Because of the millions of slack-jawed, call of duty players who get confused if the game involves more than “shoot all the dudes”
Plus any series (calladudy) that relies on auto aim and network “smoothing” so heavy is a joke of a “competitive” game.
im sick at cod4.

MORE INFO ON THIS ONLINE EVENT
I’m usually really bad at any game with an aiming reticle. GGA is sick, you all owe it to yourselves to check it out.
This is a misquote. I don’t like DRIVING (if someone offers me a ride im generally all over it), and its expensive (i’ve had more car breakdowns this year than in the 5 years before combined). I can’t get away from work for the weekend very often for financial reasons, so when I choose to do so, I tend to choose to do so at the largest event I can attend. Thats why just in the last year you saw me at Seasons Beatings, Winter Brawl, Final Round, Combo Breaker, E3/Revelations, and EVO. This is a LOT more than most people travel to gaming events, and I appologize if you are offended that I haven’t made it to your area in a while (though taking that personally is pretty silly). The last time I had the chance to go to Milwaukee for an event, it was my Fiance’s birthday (and I decided to spend the weekend with her). I also have to save money for a wedding, which as you may have heard, is insanely expensive.
I’m not sure what ‘milwaukee’s’ problem is with me. When and if things change with my situation, I’ll be there as often as I can be (if this is your issue with me, if its not, I dont know what to say). I’m almost always willing to house people if anyone wants to make the boring drive up here. Back when I had more free time and money, I drove down to visit Arsenal fairly often. Highway 43 exit 80, iirc. Thats where I met MURPHAGATOR for the 2nd time and made a life-long friend.
You guys are all cool in my book, hate or not. You’ll get nothing but love from me. Huge thanks to Keranata and Frankie G and Khalil for coming to stay with me before EVO to train up.
Hell, you guys should drop by one of our Green Bay ranbats and stop me from winning MvC3/SSF4/MK9 every time. I’ve even been getting 2nd in Tekken, and I’m very bad at that game.
I can vouch that Keits drove down to my apartment a ton back in the day. Not sure what the problem is people have with him, I think Keits is doing good things for the community, both locally and nationally.
