Milwaukee: Too grimey for the rest of WI

Godlike, bookmarked, absolutely incredible. It reminds me of Ninja Gaiden.

yeah, what i do is not for everybody, and i focus on odd time signatures which makes for the illusion of unsteady tempos although everything was recorded to a metronome. i’m also heavily into counterpoint, which is mainly used in classical music and in essence is two completely different rhythms laid on top of each other, so it could sound like multiple songs although each of the parts that make up the piece couldnt be independent of each other. but its all in the eye of the beholder, of course. as far as obscure rap, you’d damn well better believe i would rather hear some guy that actually has it rough and can’t afford a glossy production because that music is supposed to be dangerous-i dont want to hear what a massive studio is going to do to what could potentially have passion behind it.
but if you like spastic ink, check out anything ron jarzombek has done. the man isn’t human.

I can see that, it’s more gritty and real, it’s just that a lot of it is really bad imo

You can only hear “I’m a gangbanging killer” so many times before it gets old, especially when the beats suck…I have to be pissed off or in a certain mood for it. same for “I have money, drugs and cars” with overproduced commercial rap…

Yet to hear any underground Chi stuff with subject matter other than bangin… I’d love to hear someone very truly lyrically talented on a level of say, Canibus’ “Rip the Jacker” (Too many people sleep on his work, brilliant stuff)

The counterpoint stuff is probably difficult to appreciate if you aren’t a musician. Although, I do like classical music a lot, especially the really dramatic style like the Carmina Burana (and yeah what got me into it was Nobuo Uematsu but hey)

What about the Black Eyed Peas? You guys like the Black Eyed Peas? :smokin:

Dirrrrrttttyyyy bit

Train of Thought by Dream Theater might be my favorite album of all time -

This track is so awesome, I used to put it on repeat a lot in college when I was working on projects and stuff.

I’m a sucker for more of the orchestra/slow pieces.

on topic of fighting games - I think I can directly translate doing jab to fierce hands with honda to crouch fierce to roundhouse lightning legs loop. Both are 5 fast inputs that start with light and end with heavy attacks.

After reading Andrew’s post I went to look up guilty gear music and there are some pretty awesome tracks.

also, this band is awesome
