day 2 will RUIN you. plyo is the hardest.
Arsenal’s science: Lose to my Twelve, watch it win a Milwaukee tourney, and gain respect for me. Then absolutely BODY me next time we play like I didn’t know my ass from a hole in the ground.
I was going to post what I learned from evo but realized that Alex summarized it perfectly while drunk. But yeah, Alaska has a much better scene than us. So I’ll just post random comments about the trip or something.
And yeah, the best place to eat in Vegas isn’t a fancy restaurant or a buffet, but a burger truck. Fuku Burger, why you so godlike? And I’m like 0-10 vs rainbow jelly in Boba tea evidently. I was literally sitting at the toilet for like an hour or two. I think I fell asleep on the toilet for a little while or something, maybe. Mostly the vodka’s fault I guess, but cheap vodka is surprisingly delicious.
Also, what the fuck at KK being at the same gate for his return flight as Kayo Police but not taking any pictures.
Restaurant tier list (I think this is everything):
- Fuku Burger
- Nothing, because nothing is good enough to be number two if Fuku Burger is number 1.
- I guess Noodle Exchange? Surprisingly good
- Ping Pang Pong, but only if you order the right thing.
4.25 - That American bar/grill or whatever in the Rio. Pretty good, nothing really special.
4.5 - Normal stuff you can get anywhere, like TGI Fridays. - Some random pizza place that sells mediocre NY style pizza that Alex thinks is godlike when drunk as shit for no reason.
- Wetzel’s Pretzels - Pretty terrible pretzel dogs, but props for having a significantly shorter line than the Whopper bar that charges $10 for a heart attack on a bun.
- There is no number seven, because nothing is as terrible as number 8
- Fucking McFadden’s. Seriously, they had mediocre burgers (or terrible if you got the one that I didn’t order), no real variety in their menu, and the most terrible fries I’ve ever had in my entire life. Why the hell that place was still in the Rio, nobody will ever know.
Also, good shit poverty coast for having TV’s we couldn’t use for a setup. We walked around Vegas/Chinatown for like 2 hours looking for a pawn shop, finally found one after walking through a localized post-apocalyptic wasteland. Got a shitty CRT there, and walked back to poverty coast, which was like a mile away. Just so we could have a setup for like one night basically.
Also, shoutouts to literally the best taxi driver I’ve ever seen in my entire life. That dude deserved his like 50% tip for sure.
And finally, fuck Phoenix. I’m out.
I played really bad in Marvel in tournament, I was very nervous and was choking non stop, like beyond floe level choking.
Arcana I lost first round to Heartnana and then won a few in losers until I played H-F Blade who has a much better Weiss than me and blew me up.
Dooku lost to Spark’s Hakuman in winners and losers in his Blazblue pool, talk about getting fucked by brackets.
Here’s a picture, Choco was prettier in person but my camera takes unflattering pictures
hah, It didn’t make sense asking people for pictures when we were just casually talking…also traps aren’t my thing.
DevilJin’s new excellent article pretty much sums up what I took from evo. Not just viscant, but everything in general
gonna try to make it out to a fight night now that i got some wheels
Is Momochi gettin’ Iced in that pic?! Also KK w/glasses>KK. Hope you guys had a good time aside from everything else. Think we’ll see you at the Tracks or are you burned out?
I don’t think I can go to Evo, the tracks, and Chicago Heart 3 in back to back to back weekends. Sorry, I’m probably gonna sit this weekend out.
I’ll be at the Tracks this weekend.
Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate.

Anyone else ever wonder about this shit? Why do fighting games lately get full remakes/upgrades (HDR, and now 3sOE), yet companies totally pass on remaking very old, successful games? For example, Super Mario Bros 3, one of if not THE best selling game of all time, and easily the best Mario ever made. There’s a ton of others from classic systems. Some get remakes (Final Fantasy, even if all the remakes are bad), yes, but never any kind of first class, A quality big budget treatment with a PR campaign.
I guess someone remade SMB3 with the New Super Mario Bros DS engine:
Imagine how much money Nintendo could make by doing a revamp of this game and hyping it, either in 2D style with modern graphics or a sequel in full 3D, cell shaded, with the same world design, bosses and powerups.
Man Nintendo does enough remakes and re-releases.
I think I bought Super Mario Bros 3 like, 4 times over the years.
SMB3 NES - Mario All Stars - GBA version - Virtual Console Version - Mario 25th anniversary All Stars for Wii
Plus I think they don’t tend to do remakes because the originals still hold up so well. (and its cheaper to get emulation running on their newer systems than remake) Hand a 10 year old kid SMB3 on the NES and he’ll still love that game.
Hand him some 3D action game from the playstation and see how he likes that. Those are the games that need to be remade.
However if Nintendo was on the DLC thing DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros that added levels from the old games would be cool.
530 guys, new address in the OP.
I knew about all those rereleases of SMB3, except for 25th anniversary, I’ll have to look into that.
Of course the originals hold up great, anyone who thinks otherwise/won’t play because “the graphics suck” doesn’t deserve to experience a masterpiece of gaming I still have an NES with all 3 marios.
Playstation action game remakes? Do you mean like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, etc? I’d love to see a modern version of Jumping Flash
I really wanna see remakes of old, obscure Japanese only RPGs like Romancing SaGa, SaGa Frontier (they did remake RS1 for ps2 but I wanna see more). Never gonna happen though
yeah i just feel like a lot of early 3D action games are really poor now because they didn’t understand how to do camera/controls/collsion detection and such.
I love the PS1 and i collect it and stuff but man some of those games are bad. It’s a lot like the NES in that way. Just a huge number of games but so many bad ones and unusual experimental ones.
yeah ps1 remakes need to happen. I’m trying to play silent hill…and the scariest part about it is the janky camera and controls.
SaGa series? Really? SaGa Frontier was brought over here, and it blew. I was stupid RPG crazy ah-knee-meh waaaai weeaboo back then and I STILL thought the thing sucked balls. And I enjoyed shit like Vay. And FF Mystic Quest. Every SaGa game, to me, is the electronic equivalent of giving a woman bad oral. Someone’s bored, someone did a bad job, and the only thing to show for it is a big spot on the bed from your drool.
I completely agree on Jumping Flash, though. Loved that game to death and would probably play it right this second if it was in front of me. Wasn’t there a sequel? I need to get on that.
Squeebnix needs to remake and throw Einhander on some systems. Best game Square’s ever touched.
SH2 and 3 is still timeless :]. Other than that the only way I see square not completely going broke is to remake ff6 and 7.
well I was talking about SH1. keep everything the same, just fix some movement/camera issues D:
