I haven’t really messed with this game too much since the latest patch but I still think virginia is busted. Some of the stuff sibladeko is messing with with yuri makes her look really solid also she ends rounds on opponents with less than 60% or so life and not enough meter to burst.
Smile is the other candidate for ‘wtf’ strength wise they have handed this guy a lot of nerfs and he still seems way too solid, easy hitconfirms into great damage, uber command throws, and 22A/22B tricks after he finishes a combo and goes into knockdown.
Huh? Which patch did you try installing? The Vista one or the XP one?

I have SP2 and the XP patches work fine.

Edit: Tried patching again today with the vista patches and it still crashed like a little bitch.

Edit googled ir and downloaded and after abit it worked out.
And what about IaMP? >_> that’s pretty damn different compared to your average fighter and yet it still gets some recognition.
Once again, GoF has more fighting game elements than people would like to think in terms of how it plays, but of course most people who play fighters hate to step outside their comfort zones.

IaMP is not quite as different. Nevertheless I still don’t like it nor have I ever played it outside 5/10 mins of fucking around.
That is the heart of it yes. What you need to understand is that this is not wrong.
My only opinion about GoF is that I do not want to play it. I have never given a thought to it otherwise. I did not question the validity of your feelings about GoF, nor even the quality of its gameplay. I don’t care about it, few others seem to care about it despite being made aware of it constantly. Let it go.

frustratedsquirrel, I’d play GoF, but I don’t even think my laptop could handle it. I’m more than willing to step out of my comfort zone…I play SFIV and I. Hate. That. Game. GoF’s system does look interesting to me, I won’t lie. However, it’s something that I wouldn’t be able to be even halfway decent at.
IaMP gets recognition because it’s freaking hard and there are options aplenty. Way too many. bellreisa’s video tutorial almost made my head split just from the system basics. Also, I heard Japanese players use Saturn pads for this game, what’s REALLY good?!?
All in all, you can’t force your opinions on anyone. Plain and simple. I’m not trying to bash you, I’m just saying. I am, like, the only Arcana player in Columbus, but I don’t go to a SFIV gathering and say “Hey guys, SFIV sucks balls, play Arcana with me”. I have gotten people to play it who normally wouldn’t however, because I was willing to step outside my comfort zone and play the games they play.
To get back on topic with MKV, can anyone recommend me to buying this game? I’m going to ACen this coming weekend, and I might get tempted to buy it if a vendor has it…

I kinda like MKV, but if you find it at ACEN, it’s gonna be way overpriced, and it’s not worth it. It’s fun in training mode to do combos, but really, outside of that, I don’t think its gonna last.
But yeah, i agree with the rest of your post, too. It’s one thing to not be swayed by others and play what you want to play. It’s another thing to force your opinion on others. Certain members of this forum do that quite often, and it really just leaves a negative impression on everyone. I’ll admit that I’m quite the D-bag sometimes, but being accepting of other’s opinions is a good trait to have imo.

Well, for me MKV is funny but just for the wrong reasons. I still play it sometimes… but yeah, shitty game overall.
Yeppers. I am still digging the game. Since i got the chance to play head to head with someone. It was kinda of fun. I am not saying that this is no GG or SF but i am just saying i want to give it a chance. SFI was terrible. GG was not so go either. hell Melty Blood and Arcana lacked in some areas when they first got onto the scene. I am not trying to force anyone to like this game. Just my opinion. either way rock on
Well it’s not like people really explored the game in versus mode, only in training… Which doesn’t always say much about how the battles will look like.
it really is going to depend on what they do in the next 4-5 patches for whether this game is going to be any good or not. Right now its at borderline bad in my opinion, but they could turn it into borderline good.
