I have no idea if anyone is aware of this already but you can air-backdash THROUGH people (as in not into them) and attack, effectively crossing them up twice. Just making sure this is known.
anyone know why it detects my standard 360 controller fine but wont work with my madcatz TE?
“Levitaaation!”
I like how Heartnana is saying “give the game a chance despite it’s ugly visual style” even though the gameplay’s not that good…
But that didn’t save Gleam of Force, and that game’s gameplay was fantastic.
gleam of force wasn’t even ugly anyway, grumble grumble
I had to set my ps3 TE to left analog for it to work, not sure if that will work with the 360 one though.
wait you dont have to use xpadder or anything? it doesnt recognize the trigger buttons for my hori EX2, and it completely doesnt recognize the madcatz retro arcade (which is the pcb im using in a stick).
I actually agree with Master Chibi here. D:
I never said “give it a chance” at all. I don’t care if you guys play it, I’m not gonna play against any of you in it anyways, so whether you guys play it or not makes no difference to me. I’m just stating reasons why people are avoiding it, and saying that I still play it and that I personally enjoy it, despite all the things people say. I’ve never once said “give the game a chance!”, and my main reasoning for even playing it so much is because I bought it, lol. So yeah, don’t name drop me like I’m the spokesman for this game, or like I’m even slightly convincing anyone to do anything, because you’re bending the truth. If i DID say “oh guys, give the game a chance”, then please quote me on it. Otherwise, don’t bring up stuff I never said, thanks. But yeah anyways, for this game, I just like Yuri, and I enjoy doing high damage combos, so it’s entertaining enough on that front.
And gleam of force is a completely different issue that it’s best not to bring up here. Most FG players here don’t enjoy boxing games all that much, simply put. I’m not gonna comment on whether the gameplay is “fantastic” or not, because that’s all preferential anyways. One person can find a game fantastic, and the other can be bored out of their mind with the same exact game. So let’s leave the whole “this game vs that game” arguments out of here, please. It won’t end well, simply put.
Yeah you didn’t. I was the one that said it. And I don’t even play it (not on my HD).
He got confused w/e.
Sorry if I caused offense. Of course I wasn’t quoting you directly, it’s just the feeling that I got given the tone of your previous posts.
For someone reading that post, it sounded as though you were defending the game in a subtle way by pointing out that people are automatically dismissing it for the art style without really looking at the game’s good points, which is exactly what everyone did to GoF.
It just struck me as funny is all.
GoF has more fighting game elements compared to Glove on Fight, anyway. Combos etc.
yeah i didn’t even run key config or anything, it worked with my 360 controller first time i used it. cant get it to recognize the TE at all though. Anyone know what the left side button is in the config exe?
how do i use xpadder to set up my hori ex2 to work with million knights and also I am having problems using any of the patches they all crash the game after the movie and yes I am using SP3 XP. I can live without the patches for now but i can’t even play cause I can’t get my stick to work with the damn game.
I said that even tho everyone else thinks it’s ugly, that I don’t think it’s that ugly, and that everyone else says that the long combos are broke, but that’s what I have fun with. I wasn’t defending the game, I just said that the problems other people have with the game, I don’t personally have.
I know everyone says it sucks, and I’m not about to go “oh no, it doesn’t suck”. I’ll admit that it’s pretty broke (full life combos lol), but that’s part of what I enjoy about it. I think that if it wasn’t broke, I would find it too boring and I would have got tired of it very quickly. Same with Little Battlers EX. That game is REALLY broke, easy infinites etc, but I still had a ton of fun playing it. Am i gonna say the game isn’t crap? No, because it is, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it. Am I gonna say MKV isn’t crap? No, because there’s too many things wrong with it. I just personally am enjoying doing broke combos.
I’ll defend the game in this way: If you like doing combos that do a ton of damage and are relatively easy, try MKV. I do get offended when people try to put words in my mouth, which is what I felt like you were doing. Sorry if it seemed harsh, but unless I say something, I don’t like people saying I said something and name dropping me, that’s all. growl growl growl.
And honestly, i doubt people are gonna give MKV a chance. It doesn’t look visually appealing enough, and aesthetics really are a big part when it comes to drawing in people for a first time look. I don’t blame people for not wanting to play MKV for that reason, and I don’t blame people for not wanting to play GoF for the same reason. I do admit that I think some of the people saying that the game sucks doesn’t have legit reasons, however, i can see where they’re coming from when they simply say “Nothing about the game makes me want to play it.” There’s games like that for me, where while I can’t say the game is bad, it just doesn’t grab me. GG is one of them. I don’t think it’s a bad game, but nothing about it makes me want to play it. Prolly the same with a lot of people with GoF
2 new patches hit today on the site. And I DO LIKE THIS GAME. Flame me I don’t care. People can like what they want. If you don’t like it. Then that is fine. I personally dont like TEKKEN (Virtua Fighter guy) but there are hella lot of people who do. F it VIVA LA REVOLUTION !
I think it’s safe to say that, according to Babelfish translations of the readme, NRF are making big changes to make the game better.
Tried it out for a bit earlier on. Aside from the somewhat sparse backgrounds and the sometimes well animated/sometimes 2 frame animated sprites, it’s feels “ok” at best so far. I like Virginia and Smile.
I find it funny how it slows down my comp whenever I pick Folo though  (it’s a lot less worse when it’s run fullscreen).
Patch 1.11, I never bother with the XP patch though I am using XP, it breaks my game.
Throwing in my quick two cents:
I don’t think NRF is going to change anything of the core because that’s what makes the game theoretically "unique."
Polish feels lacking, I still like the character designs, sprites aren’t bad, it’s something with how the animations are where some moves are animated insanely well and some are animated…very awkwardly (Folo/Silvio idle comes to mind) that bugs me.
Stuff that everyone’s probably seen before, I’m sure everyone’s done a 100% on Yuri by now:
Yuri roman cancels
Otto vs Yuri 100% http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm6902349
Oh a pet peeve though, since this game IS going for loop combos of lols, why would they put in two characters that you can’t combo for shit.
Nobuko is just smaller in general and there are ways to get around that but fucking Tamara is just stupid.
Random bounce heights, random pushback, random tech times that character is a nightmare to figure out how to loop anything on.
Of course you’d think there’d be Smile-only combos because he’s the big guy but no because Yuri’s tech time is loooooong turns out it’s all about Yuri-only combos.
also still waiting for the other characters that they showed at first. Actually there designs was nice and should replace Silvio with one of them. I think one was call Ivan.
Ivan and Sven were seen in the demonstration video.
Oscar and “Arexis” were also mentioned, whoever they are.
Ha ha. Oh wow. Either you guys are trolling or you just have really shitty opinions.
