Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

Who changed it? I saw some of the added words into the lexicon of English but nothing about changing the definition of “literally”. I did see it’s in like Stage 3 or so of being accepted as meaning what it doesn’t.

Oh great, we have the Capcops AND the Grammar police in here…

didnt check on it, just read it got changed to the more common usage…which is the misusage i guess.

I am literally puckering my asshole at this news.

Surprised it took as long as two and a half pages before people started with the negative shit. SRK is getting old.

I’m not the biggest Mega Man fan but I do know that Inafune is in the right on this shit and will do right for this series.

The best scenario that could happen is Capcom understanding they fucked up and, instead of wasting more Mega Man titles to potentially fuck up themselves, they should do the right thing and give the franchise rights back to Inafune. I know it won’t happen, but it should.

Wow his company is named capComcept, balls of steel

Also I have to say I’ve always viewed a lot of Megaman fans as an annoying vocal minority constantly complaining. Nice to see I was wrong and a lot of people are down for backing this.

People saying ‘why isn’t Inafune putting money into this’ - consider how far along the game and design is already

The problem is that Capcom is doing more bad than good right now and the people who are doing good on behalf of Capcom (like Wayforward) are people who were doing good shit all along when they aren’t working with Capcom, while Capcom first party stuff and what you would think would be major franchises they pretty much singlehandedly destroy or give to the worst possible candidate to do said game. Remember back in the day when you booted up a game and you heard that Capcom jingle and that logo came into focus and did that little flash and how happy that used to make you? Now every time I start up a game and I see the Capcom logo I feel uncertain and basically come to terms that whatever I’m about to play is going to be a coin toss whether or not I like it.

What most people are trying to get at when they say fuck Capcom is that Capcom has been making a LOT of mistakes. More mistakes than one can ignore or justify. The company has basically resigned its former quality and assurance because they are more focused on making money than making a good game. And of course all business are making money, but funny thing is good games make money. It’s hard to stand by Capcom and what they do when every other game they release is a scam to get more money from you or a half assed attempt for the purpose of selling you a game almost purely based on brand recognition.

900k for a 2D side scroller, on top of the funding they’ve already received from the two companies involved? I don’t know the cost of doing business in Japan, but that seems a bit extreme.

biggest come at me bro ever

It’s going to be a 2.5D game with 3D models that are supposed to look in line with current gen graphics, so basically they’re going to try to make it look pretty. The pictures on the page are essentially concept drawings of what the game is going to look like.

Most of it is going to go to legal fees from the reaming Capcom will give him after he finishes the game.

This is like playing a rom on an emulator that looks like an obvious hack… UNTIL YOU REALIZE IT’S THE ORIGINAL.

COMCEPTION. :o

Well, this was the easiest $20 I’ve ever spent.

is japan known for suing on copyright infringement…manga and dojinshi tell me otherwise.

Capcom would lose the lawsuit anyways.

Capcom’s too busy chasing COD to care about the Megaman series. Such a shame to see the franchise the way it is now.

What would capcom even sue them over? Making a game similar to megaman? I doubt they own the genre of a shooting platformer.

in america theres plenty of grounds to sue. the fact he basically got the exact same team as well as art style/ game mechanics.

stealing an opponents weapon as your own was basically invented by mega man. level concepts.

in america this is more than enough to sue.

USA has a lot of dumb shit when it comes to the copyright laws, lucky not every country is that dumb
