Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

Yea Tengu Man is bad ass.

All the Japanese-themed RMs are pretty BA, even Yamato Man’s jingoistic self.

I’m still surprised, there’s never been a Katana Man(although I guess Blade Man is close enough).

MegaMan 8 great in regards to its presentation, the concept art was awesome, the cut scenes looked good (maybe not sound), music was subpar, but you could see the direction Capcom was taking the classic series, or at least wanted to. It sucks that 8 is seen as the worst in the lineup, especially with all the obvious effort that was put into it.

^Not the best idea for a level, but everything else was solid in my opinion. Astro Man’s stage was a low point too.

I like 8 but I do think it’s one of the weakest in the series.

Megaman & Bass is dope, but fuckin haaaaaarrrrrrrrd.

I had the GBA port of Megaman & Bass. Fuck that game’s final boss. He was impossible to beat.

I played that in arcades.

I lost track of how many quarters I used quick.

I actually liked Mega Man and Bass. It’s funny looking back on it and seeing how Capcom blatantly tricks you into playing Hard mode by finally giving you the option to play as Bass. Dude is fucking useless. Lol.

The one thing about the game that really bothered me was they recycled Tengu and Astro. That really really bothered me.

I managed to beat MM & Bass with Bass, have yet to win with Megaman. Game is much harder without double jump assist :rofl:

MM8 was a fucking beautiful game and the best since 2, 3-7 were meh to ass

also they did the same thimg in the saturn version of MM8 you fight Woodman and Cutman

MegaMan 8 Saturn Version was god tier.

8 on Saturn is almost nothing like 8 on PS1 from what I hear.

Loving the music in the game, really captures that Megaman/X feel.

its till lazy. they have the means and they cheap out with some shit looking game. at least shovel knight has full fuid animations for everything.

art work from this game (in game) is superior than old mega man because there is more detail going on. the fluidity of enemies and beck is complete and not choppy like old mega man.

stop with the nostalgia bro. it seems to be in any amd all meduims with enthusiasts, it needs to die if it leads to conclusions like yours.


I was just reminded that i will never know how the legend series ends, how and why the carbon series was created, jow megaman is related to the biometals, why the original system is corrupted by Dr. weils biometal, where are the remenants of the other biometals ( especially zero), why is the refractory system in place incomplete.

I also realized zx sill never finish, and ill never know how it ties in into legends. I also will never know the fate of x during the cyber elf wars (x6 7 & 8 are not cannon). nor the fate of original mega man. did he evolve into x gradually and then upgraded by light when wily made zero?

I wont ever know because rather than complete the story we got megaman 8 9 etc.

In game of course it’s better. It’s not 8 bit. But Mega Man 8 style looks much better than this.

Obviously this game has new technology behind it but the aesthetic is weak in comparison.

yes MM8 looks amazing, and it’s the natural evolution of MM7, another great game, with amazing art. I won’t argue there, but the point is; Megaman 9 and Megaman 10 look like shit compared to Shovel Knight.
