Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

I honestly thought they had hired the Japanese actors to do the English.

I think they just picked up random people off the street.

“Hey, wanna make a quick $200? Just come with me and do what I say. Experience? Fuck that.”

They used to do that back in the 90’s.

Seriously…

If you see what some of the voice actors look like in person too you’d be believe it even more. Lol

Comcept updated with vids showing Becks’ basic, climbing, dashing…and adsorb actions.

He can grab ledges, dash diagonally and more than once in mid-air? He just keeps getting better and better.

this has got to be the single stupidest shit you’ve said ever.

EVER

that idiocy that was MM9 and MM10 shouldn’t have happened. the amount of lazy ness emanating from those pos games is too much. Anybody that bought those games is and was an idiot for supporting bullshit behavior on Capcom’s part…Now if the games looked like shovel knight, I’d agree with you, but dude…dude. it was a NES in 2010. Fuck that, and you need to get rid of that taste cancer, because that’s the reason Capcom can do what it want’s to do.

I’m still mad they nerfed Megaman after years of him having slide and charge shot as a standard. To me those games don’t exist and aren’t canon.

F all that though. Beck is looking awesome. That dash jump to targeted downwards shooting is too bad ass. It’s like one moment he runs like a goofy kid and the next he’s ripping through enemies. Beck is about to be that shit in his basic form. And with 8 other forms to see this game might be something special after all.

I like MM9 and MM10 quite a bit (Didn’t pay for either, thanks PS+!)

I’d probably pay for them down the line at some point tho. shrug

I would have been fine with mm9 and 10 if they hadn’t of tried so hard to do Mega Man 2 pt.2 and pt.3 with them.
And they didn’t even do it right.

The way they made the level designs to “represent the old mega man feel” was fucking dumb. The original mega mans had rooms that were simple yet rewarding when you got through them. Some were frustrating but not to the point where you felt stupid or angry at the game. The game punished you for being impatient and it did it in An educational way.

With mega man 9 and 10 they would just put shit in awkward places and tried to mask the bad enemy placement and stage design as Castlevania syndrome and classic mega man level design where you have to pay attention or you get your shit rocked. The games taught you nothing about their rules and didn’t really give you any room or information to learn them. They just threw you in and expected you to accept it cause “lol nostalgia”

Mega man 9 and 10 didn’t want you to succeed. they wanted you to fail because in their eyes making a game to be frustrating, insulting to your intelligence and poorly designed is nostalgic. Why bother making smart level designs where you learn a little bit at a time and then be able to achieve getting to the end of the level with that knowledge when we can just shove a bunch of shit in your face?

The different characters and giving or taking away things from them was also really dumb. “Let’s make mega man as bare as possible. No slide. No charge. Jump and shoot only. Final destination”

Proto Man was “remember all that stuff you liked post mega man 3 and 4? Well you can have it. But you have to take double damage. But at least you can deflect pellet shots. Nothing else. Just pellets”

Bass was “I’m mobile but my buster is useless. But hey! At least the Treble Adapter is really good…at getting over pits. It sucks for everything else though”

Get chemotherapy.

Now.

I . . . I liked MM9 and MM10? shot

I liked Mega Man 9 & 10 too. Wish they would put it on a disc too. But nope just that crapcom collection as a voucher for Mega Man 10.

Laziness how? I think you’re forgetting MM9 came out before everyone and their grandma was using 8 bit for their game.

Also I didn’t necessarily say 8 bit, I mean if the game looked like HD Mega Man 8 I’d get that too.

My point is that old school Mega Man artwork looks about a thousand times better than anything I’ve seen for this game.

The worlds, the characters, it all just looks cooler and more timeless this (like every Mega Man sub series after Legends) lacks that timeless feeling.

Also Shovel Knight looks better how? I’m not following, they’re both 8 bit. Hell if anything I’d think it looks worse because Shovel Knight at least tries to follow NES limitations.

Love you too buddy!

The game did plenty to teach you little by little. Yeah it didn’t advance the series but with so many people saying MM2 is the best what did you want them to do?

Never noticed if this was also in the MM games… but as Beck climbs the ladder, he shoots with his right arm to the right side and left arm to the left side. Is that just being lazy or can he actually shoot from both arms?

Are we going to get a double shot upgrade?

MegaMan has been shown to have a buster in both arms actually. He chooses which one he fires depending on his positioning, in the comics and an ova he’s been seen to use both simultaneously.

To be fair, you can’t really tell if something is “timeless” until, y’know…time passes. Years down the line when games have huge graphic improvements, if this still holds up, then you’ll know. It’s impossible to assume either right now unless you’re psychic.

i stopped reading here and…

Just the look really. The game part is probably gonna be awesome which is why I backed it.

It’s like Gears of War, a lot of people say the game is great but everyone agrees it’s gonna look dated quickly.

I actually really enjoyed Mega Man 8. :frowning:
I think it was because of the Robot Masters and not the game itself. Lol

Love me some Clown and Tengu Man.
