So? It’s nice to see more stuff happening to evolve the series but I really wanna see Inafune completely stretch his creative mind. Dude is mad good at creating concepts and I wanna see that. Probably gonna drop $60 when I get paid.
Not sure why people calling this Megaman “inspired” or “esque”.
Look at those character designs, read through the dev team, listen to the soundtrack. This is the new Megaman franchise. It just doesn’t have Capcom’s logo slapped onto it.
There is always a market for games that are made with care and love and deliver classic concepts in new and exciting ways. That’s something Capcom and all the other “Triple A”(whatever the fuck that means) creating companies have long since forgotten…
If this game concept doesn’t excite you, then there really is no hope for you and you are the cancer that will kill the future of this industry.
Me and Zero are excited, don’t get it twisted. Can’t wait to see what all I can steal off of that helicopter enemy.
I’m hoping in response, Capcom steps up something with the Megaman series proper, if Strider turns out good I wouldn’t mind seeing Double Helix being given a go.
The last part of my post wasn’t directed at anyone in particular. However, I have seen some people*(most likely paid Capcom employees)* trying to throw salt on Mighty No. 9.
I ain’t having that. I’ve been waiting for a game like this for quite a long time, and I’ll be damned if I let anyone try to screw that up.
I’m not? Why does creator matter if the creation is good? Capcom did what was best for it’s business. Stop acting like a consumer and put on your basic business knowledge hat for a second. If you’d rather you use the people in Japan HQ to work on your bigger titles while taking advantage of the less busy but just as hungry developers found in the West. Why not? That’s assuming it makes good financial sense and for the games that do well it certainly seems to. Did you not read the articles from a few years back about why Japanese game publishers started to seek outsourcing? Or were you still hung up on some basic ish like Mega Man’s creator quitting? I mean all this hate on Capcom and you probably wouldn’t even have the balls to call out Keji and Temco Koei for working with Spark Unlimited? No Capcom there.
Do you hate on Square-Enix for buying up Eidos? Granted they haven’t started outsourcing their IPs to Eidos yet but please don’t be surprised if they ever do.
A lot of you think the people of SRK and some other fans are enough for some of these games you want Capcom to produce. We aren’t. We used to be enough but the games have gotten more expensive to develop. Not to mention American publishers are making BILLIONS off of franchises and Japanese publishers are struggling to be that big. They are trying to do something to keep them from vanishing into the history books. SORRY IF IT’S NOT EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. But Capcom does listen. Both to forum posts and the money we spend. And guess what some of the choices they’ve made with the outsourcing they’ve done haven’t been all that bad and have made them some money to boot.
It’s not that Capcom hasn’t been taking notes but they want more money gained from a game’s development then the amount put into it. There used to be a time when all gamers looked forward to new Megaman games but that’s not the case anymore. The band of people who are supporting this Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter are probably most of the people who will ever buy this game. $2.5 million for the final stretch goal? That probably would have been the game’s “final” dollar total after a few years. Capcom needs more than that to be as big as it is.
So I am supposed to pat Capcom on the back because they are making supposed good business moves and focusing on doing awesome things like nickel and diming consumers to death and pumping out a lot of shit that their older fanbase couldn’t give two fucks about while denying us what we really want?
Somebody needs to take that Capcock out of their mouth because it’s cutting off the circulation to their brain.
