There was a GBA Mega Man game that was a sequel to the X series that had a LOT of story, and it was unskippable too. I don’t really care about story in a game like this but I really hope you can skip it.
Megaman Zero had a pretty awesome story though. I think the final speech Zero gave in Megaman Zero 4 was probably one of the best final speeches anyone has given in a game.
I always felt the story in Megaman Zero was a lost opportunity. Humans are finally playing a bigger role in the narrative and yet we still didn’t get to see how the conflict is viewed from their perceptive. Still focused on the robots.
Atleast Megaman Zero has an Awesome OST sorry for posting so many osts the nerd in me came out
I always assumed that Inafune and the writers never really knew how to make it interesting from the human perspective. It decreased as the series goes on until Legends. Probably the same will be true for M#9

Console version is more or less guaranteed at this point.
The Zero series has some really powerful plot points that are underwhelmed thanks to poor presentation. Among other things, Copy X fires a nuke into a populated residential area in his own city just to find something that he wants. I feel like animated cutscenes or the like would do a much better job of illustrating the magnitude of the stuff that villains do in Megaman games.
Wow nice this one keeps going and going doe.
Kinda bummed out tho that they removed the mystery goals from their original place and probably use them as further goals after the 2,2 million are reached.
Whatever though, more money won’t hurt this game I guess.
I guess not anymore. From the page:
First mystery stretch will be 3DS/vita ports. Second mystery stretch will be extra levels/boss rush mode. I still predict it will end up with 3-4 million.
Trust me. It was always guaranteed from the start. And yeah Orochi I agree with it hitting between $3 and 4 million. I am hoping it breaks $4million.
And as far as future stretch goals and the mystery goals the rest need to be related to the game. BUT, the final goal should be X1, and PS4 support. I see that as a stepping stone to the almost inevitable sequel.
There’s a lot more to do with the idea.
If it were in any other team’s hands, I wouldn’t have said that this would necessarily be a good thing.
How do you now balance actual, new abilities opened up by your shapeshifting with the play every level in any order structure? One of the strengths of Megaman was that new shot types were simple enough that they never REALLY forced you to play things out in any certain order. Shot-type ammo ensured that switching things up was the most efficient thing to do. To reserve this kind of ammo for this kind of enemy and managing that on the fly was fun.
Now you’re going to have super-high-jump-form without ever really needing to have one because every level needs to be completeable without it.
How are they going to prevent these new abilities from feeling like pointless gameplay bloat if you’re not going to necessarily need any of them? Are you going to bother shapeshifting to your super-jump form more often than the times when an item is out of reach? Are they going to be putting items out of reach JUST because you have a super-jump form?
It’s a much trickier balancing act but I have confidence that they’re going to make this idea work. They’re not kidding when they say that this will not be a Megaman game, just that it comes from the same spirit. It’s going to be completely different.
^ We have some precedent for this already: MMX1’s first 8 levels are all doable without the dash, but Sigma’s stages are not, barring a crazy no-dash super-optimized run. Or MM8 locking the second set of 4 bosses until you do the first 4, ensuring you have the abilities you need to beat the stages.
Donated to it when it first surfaced, and just made my brother donate to it as well as an early birthday present for myself (after seeing this I honestly don’t want much else).
Cant wait to play this on my vita. Last mmx game i played was 3.
Somebody caption that with “MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!” asap

So Boss Rush is more or less a given, which is great! Online Co-op sounds sexy too.
lmfao…heres your chance femininazi’s just throw millions of dollars at it
I wonder how she’ll play. Since Mighty is more complicated than any of the 2D Megamans thanks to his transformations Call isn’t a simple palette swipe of Beck.
I hate that I gave so much money already. I keep wanting to give more but I’m maxed out as it is. For those who have already pledged please try to stretch further. I really want to see the inevitable $4 million goal come to pass.
