Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

At the very least I think he should have kept his slide. I understand them wanting to “go back to their roots” (not really), but when people have been sliding since the early 90’s and you take it away, there’s going to be salt. Shoot, if they gave him the slide back then they just buff Protoman’s mobility further by giving him a dash or something. On that note, I actually liked how they implemented Protoman in MM10. He takes double damage (that’s canon, even), but in exchange he gets a shield which the player can use to ‘air parry’ nearly every projectile in the game, and he has enhanced power and mobility.

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, MMU is hella cool but I wanna see some new stuff coume out fo fanworks. Still gonna get 8-Bit stuffs but emga has a wide varieity of styles to pull from, liek say a new BN style game Come on somone bite on this. Hopefully Megaman Ciel come about.

Mega Nut Buster

They removed some characters too. Bass not being in 9 and Duo being gone in both games.

The shape-changing aspect excites me. It means stolen boss powers can be much more than just different shot types.

wait…cant we just skip a making of documentary and go straight to porting to different systems lol…like why is that even a stretch goal option.

i get a bit confused for kickstarters sometimes…like are they seriously telling me they cant take that documentary money and put it into a porting fund?

@maxx: I was thinking the same thing,. Fuck a documentary, it shouldn’t even be on the list. Give me 360/PS3 please. lol

I agree but then I would love the documentary to be an inspiring framework for others to follow.

i feel like making of doesnt need a big budget…shit get a bunch of local college students to do it as interns for free.

I"M SPIRIT BOMBIN THIS SHIT!!!
GIVE US THE ULTIMATE NEXT GEN MEGA MAN!!!

if MN#9 is better than mega man.

Boom!!! Fuck off capcom, do some real shit.
Resident evil Suck ass now! you lost mega man.
You messed with the devil may cry franchise.

sf x tekken is fail. Lost planet is fail.

You cannot fuck up anymore.

Anybody else find it interesting that “PS3/360/Wii U Versions” is the only one without an exclamation point? It’s like foreshadowing lol…

First rule of being a high profile game developer.

ALWAYS have an ace in the hole game in case shit hits the fan.

Square-Enix has the FF7 Redux.

Nintendo/Game Freak has the Console Pokemon MMO.

Valve has Half-Life 3.

Pretty much, once you get to the big time, have something that will save your ass if/when things start going to hell. Something that’s a guaranteed seller.

But this topic isn’t about that. It’s about the true heir to the Megaman Legacy.

Am I the only one who after reading Inafune’s thoughts on the Mighty No. 5 design process knew this game was going to be god damn radical? He really seems to know strong character design and No. 5 looks wonderful. Some people here said they liked some of the rough designs but the final design is definitely my favorite. I can’t wait for this game to come out in 2 years.

^He just knows whacky, functional, fun, and smart character design. Dude is great at it.

So the Kickstarter is at 1.6million dollars now. Everyone said it would slow down but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down that much. We’ll hit the making of documentary by Sunday. Maybe hit the console ports goal by the end of next week?

Also if you are waiting to get paid or something to give money please stop. Kickstarter doesn’t charge you until the END of the Kickstarter. So go ahead and pledge now to get this thing moving some more.

gatling weiner fight would have been hilarious I also like that the airplane/bomber guy will stlll be in the game. I honestly would love to see what the box art is gonna look like the art style is pretty unique. If it hits DS im definitely gonna get it for 2ds .

Pledged dat money! I think it speaks volumes to how passionate the Mega Man fanbase is when this project was funded in a few days FOR GREAT JUSTICE! Maybe he can keep it up and have a full time indie game company.

So, RE2 Remake is next?

Aside from gameplay, I guess the story will be what sets it aparts from the other Mega Man games. No Capcom or Nintendo Executive telling you what to include/exclude. He’ll have more freedom
Hence why I’d also be interested in the Japanese instead of the English version.

Perhaps that game will feature more character development than any Mega Man game to date.
