Mighty No. 9 - Keiji Inafune's Next Mega Man

I wonder if Comcept have any gdlk fighting game devs.

Except those serve a function on a robot/android, whereas breasts (which serve to house the mammary glands and produce milk for children) do not. The only reason to put tits on a robot would be if you were unable to portray that they are supposed to look female without them, which if you’re an artist/designer worth your salt, isn’t a problem.

Yet another ridiculous comparison, lol. And before you try and move the goal posts like you usually do, that doesn’t change the fact that legs and arms are practical, whereas tits are purely aesthetic.

Idiocy aside, nobody here (from what I’ve read) has a problem with there being a female character, whether it was an optional costume swap, antagonist or something else. The problem was that, like with many other cases, babies are calling to censor and change an artist’s vision because they feel entitled to a robot that happens to look like a human female.

LOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NOPE

Why???

Becasue this man came about and asked money for his vision. HE said, he I have this IDEA for a game, if the idea interests you, I wouldn’t mind you giving me money so that I may finish this project.

If you dont’ like the idea, then don’t give me money.

It’s as simple as that.

So if these retards want to bitch and moan, and force the artist to change his vision, then they can simply STFU and not give him money because that’s how these kickstarters work.

Specs is one those type of niggas that throws money at the kickstarter of a death metal band and later complains why they don’t add some hip hop songs since he would like to hear some hip hop from them :coffee:

I never said it does. I’m just saying that those things are completely non-issues that they are only crucial to shallow, narrow minded people who don’t really like playing videogames. The woman in the image linked says the game “rejects her” by not having a playable female character, which is lulz. Does Bayonetta reject male gamers by not having a male playable character? Those views are absurd and should not be getting attention by the developer nor anyone else.

LOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL LOOSHGO{KN{!@ Dead fucking wrong.

Visions are malleable. I’m not stating that as an opinion. In any venture where there are multiple hands involved, there’s going to be compromise or there’s going to be dissent. There probably already was in the design phase, with Inafune and his team going over designs, arguing passionately for some that others shot down, etc. That’s how “vision” works, and it works for games, for films, for everything involving collaboration, until the end of time.

The man asking for money to realize his vision is not immune to the comments and suggestions of those pitching in. Not if he’s even remotely intelligent. And no, that doesn’t mean he has to go with every suggestion he gets, or ANY of them.

Anywho, I’ll be contributing when I get paid next, and I’m going to offer whatever comments I see fit to offer, regardless of your objections.

So basically this entire back and forth was pointless.

Word. It’s not like he said “Give me money and we’ll create a game together.” It’s just “gamers” being whiny, entitled babies again. I for one prefer to play as female characters in games… Better to look at, they tend to fit my style of play, etc… You don’t hear me begging for the character to be female or the option of a female playable character, though. That’s just being selfish and looking for any reason to bitch and moan.

Gameplay in earlier Megaman X games > original Megaman series. Free.

They aren’t non-issues: videogame PCs are overwhelmingly male, and part of the allure of gaming to many, many gamers is identifying with the character they’re controlling.

Mighty No. 9 doesn’t “reject women” by having a male lead; of course that’s silly. But those absurd views shouldn’t detract from the problem, or from the fact that bringing it up tends to earn venom. Case in point: that one dad who romhacked Donkey Kong to have Pauline playable for his daughter.

Please, PLEASE stop arguing with feminists… They don’t operate with facts and logic. Therefore, they cannot be reasoned with.
The best you can do is ignore their bait and continue about your day.
It’s like none of you have ever dealt with a woman(or their enabling male followers). The best way to deal with a woman(or anyone who doesn’t deal in in facts) that’s spouting nonsense is to ignore her.

Quit giving them power by getting angry and bringing their views more attention.

Can we get back to discussing Mighty No. 9, now?

I want Mighty No. 9 to have plot elements from Chargeman Ken.

Bitchmade fools calling others bitchmade.

Never change, SRK.

So? What does this have to do with a fucking ANDROID being male in appearance and perhaps identification? The game has nothing to do with his gender (outside of mentions that he has one), and there is absolutely no indication of his gender having any impact or effect in the game itself. Making it a NON-ISSUE for a game, but a HUGE issue for entitled little girls and their self-hating mangina warriors.

I don’t identify with a tiny android boy, guess I better get a refund. If you aren’t a mongoloid, you can identify with COMMON issues that you experience as a human or something resembling a human. If you can’t enjoy a character because it doesn’t look exactly like you, then whoever designed/wrote the character isn’t doing their job. Once again, asinine non-issues for people that aren’t trying to look for problems that aren’t there.

There isn’t a problem, there is an artist’s vision that doesn’t apply to people that seemingly don’t possess suspension of disbelief or are racist/sexist and can’t bare to play a white male.

How about people buy products that appeal to them completely and, if there is a severe absence of that, make their own game with their own artistic vision? Hell, if you don’t possess the talent for that, donate the large sum of money required to get your character design in the running to be included. Or would that involve too much work and forward thinking?

Edit: Fuck this quoting system.

Mega Man fans unite!

Oh god, no

This whole “identifying with a character” argument is bullshit. Male or female, you’ll never be able to, as a normal human being, identify with a being with superhuman abilities… Let alone a friggin’ android. Especially if said being was never a normal human being at any point.

Superman and Swamp Thing both have identifiable traits.

Not because of their gender, skin color or sexual preference, but because they (or at least Superman) have human traits.

Thanks for confirming that the only people that focus on race or gender are fickle idiots that can’t enjoy a character for the feelings and situations we, as humans, can all identify with.
