I should actually make it single game and thats it (Japan rules) but I"m gonna do it like this cause when you travel thats how it’s gonna be done, MWC,EVO,Those are the rules there and that seems to be the biggest reason for playin on a high comp level (to go outta town and represent) anyway this will actually give you time to set and think about what you did wrong or what you might have to do next,Plus 2/3 just takes too long to set up I’ve seen matches in tournaments where it takes really like 10mins to get started,just too much of a hassle.

PS: CVS2 will be set on Tournament Mode (Each player puts one quater in to play a full game) Third strike will not be set on Tournament Mode!! so bring some loose change,I"ll see what I can do about the sticks but I"ll see if the Techs of that place can come by around the practice time to answer/fix any problems with execution on the sticks.

I’m gonna have to side on Keshawn for the single match thing. I considered the route you suggested on many occasions throughout the years, and it doesn’t work for speed’s sake. Many players feel a piece of mind given a second chance, even if it’s one match rather than be finished and done with it.
Also, 2 out of 3 straight through at the very quickest will go faster than the alternative if (and only if) almost every match goes 2-0, and that ain’t happening with any tournament, especially CvS2.

MWC if i am thinking of the right one, this being the one i went to, had 2/3. I heard evo does have single match double elim, but whatever i really dont mind so long as you save me some pizza.

Actually it would be 34 matchs solid with the first one, and the second would be 32 to 48 if it went at mild best it would still take less time simply because everyone
A) TKK wont have to fight with the brakets
B) People will not have to worry this and that.
basicly all the crap that you see in a tournament double elim will be gone. all you got to worry about is setting up a one shoot deal if you really think about it having a 2/3 is kind of like having single match double elimination only you are having your second and maybe a third match with one person inseat of somone else. ontop of all that, it will also have you learn how to fight that player, and is this not what this whole thing is about, learning and getting better. how does a person get better if they must keep moving around from one person to another. evo rules might be like that but the midwest was not.
Because different ppl play different ways…Learning how to beat Benny will not help you learn to beat VDO, T.K.K, etc…Tournaments are not a place to be trying to get better, anyway. Its the place to serve as an indication of how you have improved since the last tournament…

i understand what you are saying, but if that is the case then why make it 2/3 in the first place. they make it like that so you have a chance to get used to the persons skill. if you go and play a person with your skill then play another person with your skill and another and another at a rate of only one match. your skill will not get any better either simply because you will be FORCED to play one way one style. you wont learn how to fight differnt ways to beat differnt people you will only know how to fight the one way you learned and HOPE TO GOD it will beat the next guy.

LYCAN: IF I remember correctly MWC had a Qual tourney FIRST which was Single game Double elemination!!! the re-entry tourney was a straight threw 2/3 single elemination!!!
EVO is the same way.The Qual’s and the re-entry (if there is any) single game double elemination or 2/3 single elemination.And the final 8/16 (whateva they choose) is 2/3 double elemination (like we have here normally)
Like I said before and I"ll say again 2/3 takes longer to set up PERIOD plus it takes a greater amount of skill to jump on and play your opponent ONE GAME and move on,Hell in japan they play one game and thats it!!! imagine that and then just look at where they are!!! It’ll train you to be more prepared with your hardest shit cause (like I said before) thats how it is outta town for nationals.
