You do realize that the first movie was written by Kurtzman and Orci right? Honestly, if there is a problem, it is Micheal Bay’s creative visualization. If he was “forced” to follow the more traditional lines of the lore, there wouldn’t be a problem. I actually liked DOTM better than the first two. The villain was actually a Cybertronian that did something throughout the movie. The writers craft the story, the director executes it. I think that with 4, Hasbro wants to tighten things up a bit (with robot designs, character, etc), so while I think there will be BAYHEM, it would be focused a great deal better in the robots favor.
I never did say Bay was “forced” nor excluded Michael Bay’s influence on the product since he is the director. Another thing they need to fix is to make the Deceptions distinguishable because I honestly could not tell which Decepticon was which since they all share the same color scheme with that smoke gray/black scheme. I am not sure if I would call it a minor issue, but in comparison to everything else, it’s a common complaint that hasn’t been addressed since the first movie.
Lastly, if the Autobots aren’t reduced to being guest characters in their own movie then things should be A-Ok. Ofcourse, I am probably being a little too optimistic

Is the Bayformer version of Optimus supposed to be a hybrid of Op and Rodimus? And not just the flame designs on the truck. I’m trying to figure out why he had kind of an evil streak in the series so far. Megatron tore Jazz in half, after that none of the villains were as bloodthirsty as Mr. Pull-your-fucking-face-off. Is that just the movie rendition, or was it taken from the comics?
i think its just bay’s interpretation…no real deep meaning besides that. everything is pretty wtf and dark in this series…oh and transformers having a heaven thats somewhere near humans lol. remember…thats a thing.

If anything I wouldn’t say Bay Optimus isn’t so much ruthless as he just seems to have less tolerance for BS. Bay Optimus may give the enemy 1 chance and 1 chance only if he hasn’t already made his mind up to kill you…after that all bets are off. The moment he gets the chance he’s pulling a fatality on you and it probably doesn’t matter the condition you’re in either. The face surgery he performed on Megatron and the point blank no hesitation shot on Sentinal are pretty good examples of this.

Hasbro must sell toys, so the robots have to change. Outside of Prime, I like the new renditions. I really want to see what has changed about the robot mode. The Peterbilt alt mode was nice (sans flames) and IMO the best robot mode for the franchise. This new “thing” looks out of place, especially with the triple stack.
Changing them primarily cause after 3 movies, Hasbro can’t sell any new toys, as they will be just renditions of the same figure.

One of the few things this franchise did right.
It’s very refreshing to see a Protagonist Leader take absolutely no bullshit from their enemies. Especially Optimus himself.
