“Ah yes, the inevitable treachery!”…I swear I talk to myself in that voice sometimes…like when thinking to myself thats how I talk. He was a walking quotable on par with Dennis Rodman, Charlie Sheen on blow, etc. He was a hard departure from OG and was similar in name and form ‘only’…and frankly I like him more.
I do admit that I’d get excited if they retconned Megs into ‘that’ Megatron. And brought Inferno into the fold “FOR THE ROYALTY!”.

I’ll never get that. How much of G1 did the first movie adapt? TF3’s plot was based directly on a G1 miniseries (The Ultimate Doom). There was plenty of garbage in TF3 (maybe it didn’t bother me since ROTF numbed my sensibilities), but DOTM was the first time this whole trilogy reminded me of the 80s show. A glimpse of CYBERTRON (if only 90 seconds of it). Hey look it’s Carly, Sam/Spike’s original gf. You know that the angle in which Sentinel’s ship crashed on the Moon was a nod to the Ark. Sentinel’s design was more in line with the cartoons than everyone else in the Bay trilogy. Humans looked at the big picture and chose to side with the Deceps. And gasp TFs talked to each other.
If you liked the first movie fine but I thought DOTM had more to offer 80s kids who watched the G1 series.
nah, I’m pretty sure shadowcuz just went to see it 10 million times and bought another million copies of the bluray. Dude is a die hard fan.
Saw it 3 times, bought it on Blu-Ray.

Even though you guys say you want Beast Wars (as I do); Michael Bay is at the helm, which means he is going to fuck it up.

I’m still on the ‘Bay didn’t do it alone’ bandwagon…sorta like ‘Bush didn’t singlehandedly fuck up the country’. Are there things that could have been improved? Sure…I think the designs were too organic…they would work for a ‘Beast Wars/Machines’ series, but for G1 designs, they should have cut back on it a bit. I think they had some real good jokes in part 1…and they simply ran them into the ground in part 2 &3 (like Up did with “Squirrel!”). I think they tried to listen to fan feedback, but because of the storyboard process, after integrating alot of them in, it became a further clusterfuck. The final piece was simply ‘how they brought Transformers into the modern times’ wsa simply not handled well. Working iwht the US gov’t, fighting the US gov’t, the alien division or whatever…it was simply too much and would have been better served as an underground war that remained unexplained.
I already know that they won’t ‘fix’ those issues - since it isn’t a reboot - designs are etched in. The Gov’t is etched in, etc. But I’ll stil lsee it like a mindless sheep because I like going to the movies and seeing things go BOOM! However I still only own the first TF.Bay movie on DVD…no Blu-Rays or anything (though I admit I’ll cop a trilogy set around Xmas of this year when I can get it for like $20.

Unless we have Grimlock showing up and kicking all kinds of ass, and Unicron appearing as the main Bad guy, I probably won’t be interested.
The only thing I want to know is how retarded the title is going to be for the fourth movie. I went to see dark of the moon expecting to hear a Pink Floyd soundtrack dammit!

Or it could be like the second half of the original cartoon with the war still going on in the future with a new generation of Autobots and Decepticons.
Sorry but I’m going to see it. Micheal Bay movies are my guilty pleasure and there’s nothing you can do about it.

If the next Transformers movie is pretty much like the last 40 minutes of T3 AKA the Chicago action scenes, then the movie will be damn good.
I’d like a Unicron vs Primus plot going on.
Base this movie on the ascension of Rodimus and I will be happy no matter what happens.
