I didn’t know John Goodman was voicing anyone until recently, and I liked it, I’ve always liked his voicing.
I’m hoping the rumors I’m hearing about Megatron are true.
Big question though for my…more educated, Transformer folks - what’s considered ‘canon’? The comic books or the original cartoon series? I watched the origin of the first 3 dinobots and then the War of the Dinobots on Netflix this weekend with my son…they were Transformer made. Would it make sense then for them to be made by the humans this go around based upon what’s been hinted at in the promos?
The Megatron rumors are pretty much true. Everything is considered Canon LOL.
Depends what you define as canon. Basically what Hasbro did is took G1 as a whole and lumped it together (unfortunately). Everything else is a different “universe”. The toons are great but never really fleshed out the characters like the comics did. There are certain general truths in the Comic/ Toons that fans just deal with as true and just go from there. I hope the Dinobots are treated more akin to the comic lore as they were sent to earth millions of years prior and got stuck.
My point wasn’t that they shouldn’t have mouths, but he’s asking why there’s a metal plate to protect his mouth when it’s metal. That doesn’t make sense to him. If he’s going by that, why even have mouths in the first place? Seems unnecessary and probably even a flaw in the design.
I’m not going into the philosophy or inspiration of Transformers. Honestly, since they have mouths, it makes sense to try and protect it with a plate. That’s not too hard to understand.
Damn right, it does. A lot of fans are riffing on him as The Big Lebowski, but a TF.
It works, IMO.
LOL
I forget some of the nicknames, but they’re fitting.
3 words: It looks cool.
5 more words: The OG fans love it.
All the reason for it to be in that we need, really!
Also feels symbolic, at least to me.
It’s off? Peace, and can talk/yak it up a bit.
He puts it on? The time for talk is over.
Agreed.
Leaving BW untouched feels like a better idea, though, a modern remaster of the series could be godlike though(yo I would be SO down for this, Code of Hero in modern graphics though?! Half-
at the thought, as that episode should have anyone who likes Dinobot), IF they just redid the visuals and left the scripting, voicing, and everything else untouched… we would be set. (the VAs did their roles perfectly, a remake should put recording of the OG sounds in if it ever happens, I do NOT want this to sound different, except to get Frank Welker as G1 Megs, TFP Megatron voice would be PERFECT for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyOLcqc5Ruc, YO David Kaye though)
Just redo that one episode. I’d buy the 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy w/ extras for that one episode. “GLORIOUS”. And if my XBOne doesn’t want to play it…I’ll snarl “IMPROVISE”.
I feel like they’re getting some aspects of G1 Hound with this iteration; excellent fighter/combatant, but not caught up in it too much, and fairly non-serious outside of combat, even if he is one of the finest shooters the Autobots have.
That, and he seems fairly at ease with humans… just like G1 Hound.
Bulkhead is pretty serious in AND out of combat, so there’s also that.
Movie Looks awesome
The Movie is looooooooong
Story is so-so / nothing that will blow your mind
Better Robot / Human Chemistry
Transformers (Autobots and said villain) have characterization
John Goodman as Hound is a BOSS
none of the crass humor like the others
DINOBOTS. . . . .WHOAAAAAAA!
I am thinking more of the same but with improvements.
The best part is that while reading the quote, I have Megatron’s vocal cadences down pat and felt like I was ‘watching it’. While I have no interest in a BW movie - I would have loved if they used ‘that’ iteration of Megatron, his planning was better and his personality was less “hoky villain”. Ah yes!
