Agreed. While I overall enjoyed the trilogy, there is much more to be desired. Just get rid of the overbearing military fan service and spend more of that money on the use of Robot Bayhem!
The irony is that mBay is the perfect director for a series like this, but he needs to be steered better. And thanks for the fix you are correct.

Well the Pentagon helps fund the movies, while I agree that the focus on the US Military is probably jarring for many, especially foreign viewers, them giant robot special effects ain’t cheap lol.
Why is it the Takara stuff looks better than the mainstream Hasbro transformers?

New Optimus Prime on the cover of EMPIRE
While I like the new headsculpt, I do not like the actual design of the robot chassis. While I didn’t really care for the flames, Optimus still looked like Optimus. This is just his head being slapped on a new body. I don’t want to pass judgement on it just yet but while cool, it doesn’t look like it can transform.

I want it to look like it can functionally transform. It almost looks like it explodes and then reforms after the fact. Now, in comparison, here are some early “renders” of the model.
Even with some more extreme tech detailing, it still “appears” that it s vehicle of some type. To be honest, this form is more proportioned than the other.

Is that actually Optimus? The robot designs have kind of a medieval look (by Cybertron standards), like they’re from Sentinel’s era or earlier.
The new designs seem a little more streamlined this time. I wasn’t a fan of the early Bay TFs with the endless machine parts showing.
I would fully endorse a shift of Megatron to Beast Wars Megatron to fight Dinobots.

I figure they gave Optimus a sword to match Grimlock’s sword. They have to fight at least once…

I hope they put a little more consideration into making the body functional with the transforming element in mind (from a design POV). ROTF had some of the worst designs in the franchise. When I saw Sentinel Prime, I was ecstatic because it looks like a Transformer. Despite the clear departure of Prime’s general look, this movie seems to keep things going in the right direction.

I googled “UtahRaptor” to post a picture, but 90% of everything that came up had feathers on it. I don’t care if it’s got a 6 foot spike on its foot or not, no 20 foot long turkey is ever going to scare me.

The Utahraptor is a pretty bad ass turkey LOL. Still, it’s gotta be something massive. Grimlock will be some sort of Therapod. I just doubt T-Rex due to the arms and it would make it more bad ass since that can add a bit of personality if he talks in beast mode. I think it’ll be Grimlock, Slag (Slug) and Swoop for now.
Any of you actually believe this movie won’t be a hot pile of shit that the other 3 where???
