[details=Spoiler]Eliot Rodgers story is extremely depressing and sad. I actually feel for the guy (more for his victims, but that goes without saying) when I heard his tapes I was creeped out, but there was a certain older part of me that understood exactly where he was coming from at least with respect to girls and society. And while I think what most people were saying about him were true, I couldn’t help but think that his path was one that many guys were on the same track. One wrong turn here or there and lots of guys could end up being him.
My take on him at the time, and I haven’t heard any of his tapes since around the incident, was that he was hopelessly creepy. Even creepier than me at my worst, which is kinda saying something because I have a knack for creeping bitches out even to this day (till they actually talk to me)
Creepiness is basically when a person comes off as super intense while also being low self esteem and ashamed of themselves.
It took me a long time to realize why I came off creepy. I can turn it on and off now. But tbh since I’m married I don’t have the work ethic to do it that much anymore, plus I’m just out of practice. There is very little incentive for me to do it. The best I can manage is to make lots of friends, which in many ways I don’t want because if I make lots of friends, they will want me to go out and hang with them, which means I will meet chicks and be tempted to either flirt with or fuck said chicks.
That kinda temptation isn’t something I can handle easily so I try to just stay out of those kinds of situations nowadays. So basically in a nutshell I flitter between being a douche or a creep. Sigh. It is what it is.
Eliots biggest problem was the cadence at which he spoke… even though it was on tape you could hear the creepiness in his voice, and the other big thing was that he just took shit to seriously.
People that do best at both the game of love and at the game of life… are unsurprisingly, the ones that treat it like a game. If you are the type of person to want to play it safe like you are playing a game where you only have one life before it’s game over, you are less likely to take the risks that will enable you to get ahead. Women can see this, men can see this and both are attracted to risk takers more than the risk adverse. It’s my presumption that people are more attracted to risk takers because they know that those people are much more likely to find success in their ventures. Eliot wanted everyone to come to him. He wanted to impress people so much that they would just fall in love with him from afar so that he wouldn’t have to get into the messy business of risk taking. That combined with his intensity level as well as arrogance that he was better than other people, were all that was really needed to make sure that he never got any play from anyone save for if he were to ever wander into a chick even more fucked up than himself.
When you take things seriously it shows a risk adverse nature.
A guy that goes up to a girl and says “daaaaaamn, you got some big ass titties though” might get slapped, but the girl might also like his sense of adventure and be attracted to his bravado. Before anyone balks at that notion when I was in school, I met a dude that was pretty outgoing. We were all meeting basically for the first time cause it was a school for wayward kids (job corps) well there was an extremely hot chick that was inducted one week before us, this chick had it all. Nice tits, bangin ass, sexy ass voice, dressed to kill, legs for days, she was half Asian half Irish and had perfect freckles, plus she just came off like a girl that was EXTREMELY sex oriented. Well anyways, we didn’t know al, that besides that she was just hot as fuck the first time we met her. My Adrian, while we were walking down the street, while all of the rest of the guys were talking about how hot she was in whispers from 30 feet away, my boy was like “DAAAAMN GIRL! Yo ass is fat! Make a nigga wanna holla FO REAL!”
Well homechick laughed and was like “damn he just don’t give a fuck, hahaha” he and her became good friends but this guy was the definition of ugly so he never got with her, shit I probably had more of a chance tbh. But I alway remember that situation where simply being outgoing and not serious about shit got someone into a better position than they were before. I noticed it in my game as well after that. Simply put, a closed mouth don’t get fed.
Eliot wanted people to just know or assume that he was worth something more than the next person, without actually having to prove it.
It was a very sad case of both society and a young mans lack of perception, failing him and his victims horribly.[/details]
