I haven’t been to MGL enough to know about Blaz Blue comp, but I think it’s been okay from the times I’ve been there. There was a post above that I agree with where you go to MGL for casuals, educated button mashing, and practice and SVGL is where you play the big competition.
Okay, I thought it was just me being rusty, but yeah, I think the DDRX machine had a few frames of lag when you register an input at the arrowbar.
Hence my previous statement.
I agree with this part but I still feel the skill level is way too low to even be called competition. Though I feel it’s way better competition/practice at SVGL, and seeing 2 scrubs go at it in MGL equals 5 minute long game…
That being said, when will you guys stop by MGL/SVGL again? I’ll play you sometime.

There is competition there? Uhh I guess you can go during fri/sat nights. I also stop by whenever I’m bored (aka really desperate for offline comp, which happens quite often…).

Team MGL has been out of the game for a long while now. Most of us moved on to other genres for competitive or casual gaming due to the lack of new fighting games in the past few years. With games like Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, BlazBlue & King of Fighters XII recently released we’ve been training and recruiting to make a return that has been long overdue. Yes, we are back.
As for MGL itself? We all know that MGL management hasn’t been keeping many promises and has been working at the pace of a snail, but I think they finally realize the damage they did to the arcades reputation. I have been secretly working on a plan with management to revive the venue that I call “Project R”. The changes in the coin-op industry in the past years had a huge impact to the fighting game community, but I think we at MGL have come up with something that you all might be pleased with. It’s still a little too early for the details so give us a little more time to finalize our plan and I promise to deliver.
